Our primitive cabin nestled in the woods overlooking the Grand River is a nature-lover's paradise! Come canoe, fish, experience wine country, or unplug and just get away from it all. Please note: There is no running water or electricity at the site, but the cabin is generator-ready and there is an outhouse.

The cabin does have a wood burning stove for heat and simple cooking, however there is no running water or electricity.  That being said, the building is wired and has plugs and outlets and is generator-ready.  You provide your own generator and fuel.  We provide bottled water, sheets, pillows, flashlights, a coleman lantern and fuel, a fire ring with cooking grate, charcoal grill (you provide the charcoal), access to firewood, and an outhouse with toilet paper.  Our 1/4 mile of Grand River frontage can be accessed right outside the cabin door via a quick hike down the hillside.  If hiking isn't preferred, then a quick two-minute drive will take you to the Harpersfield Covered Bridge Metropark - a favorite of local fishermen.  Bigger groups with tents are welcome, but will need to bring all supplies beyond what we provide for two guests.

Beautiful spot tucked away and private. Close to freeway but not so close as to be a bother. Silent and beautiful location in the woods. Easy access and a magical little cabin. Very kind and helpful hosts. Highly recommended.

This was a perfect lil getaway if you want to experience the outdoors without going into the backwoods with all of your gear :)
I loved the cabin and the amenities (grill, fire pit, and picnic table).
I suggest anyone looking for a quick dose of nature to stay here!

Hemlock Hideaway was perfect for a short getaway. It was cozy, clean, quiet, and scenic. We especially enjoyed our time around the campfire. We also enjoyed the nearby parks, wineries, and canoeing. Communication with the host was very prompt and clear.

What a lovely lil cabin & beautiful property! Very quiet, peaceful. Lisa was a great host, very accommodating. My favorite was making my way down to the creek & river (a careful descent down a hill that I did in closed-toe teva sandals—I would call this moderate-difficult according to a Metroparks rating scale). BUT TOTALLY WORTH IT! The cabin & natural setting it’s in is worth the visit, even if you don’t meander down to the creek. I look forward to returning in cooler weather when I can enjoy a fire in the cabin! Thanks Lisa!
