Places to see near Geneva Hills
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
The boys and I had a great weekend camping by the lake at Geneva Hills! Beautiful view of the lake and great weather. We enjoyed hiking the trails, throwing the football in the fields, and relaxing by the fire. Geneva Hills is a great place to get away with lots of private campsites. My family has loved Geneva Hills for years.
Beautiful, peaceful campsite! We stayed in space #5 (Perch) - had a nice view of the pond/lake and there was just a large enough flat spot for my 3-person tent. There were restrooms closer to our site in the pool house, but we ended up using a nicer one in the back of the welcome center a bit farther up the lane. Was originally going to go solo camping until my sister decided to come with, but would have still felt very comfortable and safe here if I had been on my own! Thanks for a great stay!
We had a wonderful time! The employees were extremely kind and helpful from the moment we arrived between giving us various options for our campsite, bringing our firewood down, and setting up our canoe rental. We enjoyed a peaceful night away from the city by the fire and are excited to come back. :)
The campground is a nice little spot. My dog loved jumping in the lake. The spot we had was however on a slant with no flat spot. Sleeping was a little uncomfortable. The people in the lodge up the hill from us made it seem like there was a nightclub there. They didn’t stop screaming and turn their music down until after 4am. I’d definitely stay there again but in a spot that has flat ground.
Beautiful and secluded.
The grounds are beautiful, and the campsites are secluded which is nice. Aside from some noisy neighbors, the place is peaceful and nice. We enjoyed our stay. My only note would be that the bathrooms are a bit basic (which you might expect at a location where you bring your own water). It’s not so much a negative as just something to be aware of, especially if you go with kiddos who might be grossed out by a camp bathroom. There is a shower too.
An enjoyable time
We planned this trip last minute for Labor Day weekend. Wanting to get away from the city atmosphere where we could fish, paddle, and relax; we found that at Lakeside Stay!
Check in after hours was a breeze! Geneva had messaged that she would be leaving the office soon & our welcome package would be on the door. We had already paid, so a map was left for us at the welcome center & we easily found our site. I also noticed other map options, a scannable QR code or extra paper maps in a clear flyer box.
Relaxation was the goal, we did! Peaceful & private campsite, we did a lot of fireside sitting. Using a bobber & worm, the fish were on the hook quickly! We brought our own kayaks instead of renting & had the water to ourselves. Since it’s an inland lake/pond, it was leisurely paddling without a care in the world.
The shower house was just fine, hot water & flushing toilets with shower curtains & stall doors. There is a pool that is available by reservation only, we did not inquire further. Not sure if it was a lawn mower or the septic generator others mentioned but we only heard noise for brief moments & only during midday hours.
The only thing that wasn’t great, but manageable, was our site (Bass) was sloped pretty good. Walking around we saw other sites that were more level but we were still able to camp comfortably. I left a few bricks for the next campers to elevate/level their fire ring to make cooking easier & get some air underneath for easier fire management.
Check out was also simple, cleaned our site up, took our trash to the dumpster behind the welcome center & left without seeing anyone.
Well I would like to say for the two days that We stayed ,( my Wife and I ) we enjoyed our stay , although it rain half the time I believe we have to Schedule another stay and for much longer time to give a accurate review but I will recommend other to come and visit its peaceful and full of nature.
