Location was good
The site was muddy we were given and not on the river. I thought these were all river sites but found out there aren't so I assumed that was because they were booked but many were left empty throughout the time we were there on the river so I would ask upon making a reservation. There were many places to walk the dogs which was great except there were yellow jacket nests which were not apparent until you walked up on them and they were in multiple places along the walk. I got stung during one of our walks which I was glad that it was me and not my daughter who also was walking with me. On a positive note I did like the area where the campground was located and the convenience to many beautiful hiking spots and the town of Cashiers.
Great view but a little let down
At check in, we waited for a while until we were helped. There, we learned that we had to pay an additional $5 to stay at a creek side space (the Hipcamp we registered for was a landside spot apparently, but it wasn’t clear in the listing). The creekside spot is definitely the way to go though - great view amongst strikingly tall trees. Luckily we didn’t have any immediate neighbors or they would’ve been a little to close for our liking. Finally, the showers were closed due to COVID contrary to the Hipcamp listing saying showers available. It wasn’t really clear to me why they were closed, especially since most of the state is mask free at this point, especially those vaccinated. Overall, scenery was great - amenities (showers) and price (extra fee for creekside) were not as advertised in my opinion.
Wonderful campground in very beautiful setting along a babbling creek. We only stayed for one night but it seems that Tony and Michelle have loyal guests who are smart enough to stay for longer. Very kind hosts. I recommend
10/10 recommend! please camp here.
Having Anthony as our host was AMAZING! The directions were easy. As you come into the location the office is in plain sight. He and his fiancé were there waiting for us which made a quick and easy check-in! Our location was wonderful. We had quick access to the creek, potable water, electricity, and trash. The site was very well kept and organized. Our stay was incredibly relaxing and fun. Anthony was open to questions or requests. His quick willingness to help and engage in enjoyable conversation was great. I definitely will be returning.
