A horse lover’s heaven!
We had a wonderful time camping at the farm. A completely unique experience being out in the pasture and surrounded by such sweet, friendly horses (and donkeys, goats, sheep, etc)! My animal-loving kids were over the moon. Michele and Rick were very kind and helpful. All in all: a great time. We hope to go back!
Michelle’s farm was such a treat for me and my granddaughter. They were such a pleasure to spend the day and evenings with that we stayed an extra day. My granddaughter played with the other little girls on the farm, they watched movies together on the projector, and played on the barn. The animals were the best!
Living on a farm really is living!
Our time at Silk Purse Farm was MAGICAL to say the least! We were greeted the moment we arrived and were given a quick lay of the land (which was expansive and beautiful!) We were tent camping and were able to set up anywhere that was to our liking so we chose a spot high atop the hill in the pasture under a massive old tree. Our view overlooked the barn and horses and ponies came to greet us and graze regularly. The farm is your oyster when you are a guest there so we spent our days petting goats, Donkeys, horses, and bunnies and our evenings doing the same and sitting around our fire. If you haven’t had a s’more with a pony practically in your lap you haven’t lived. For those who are more rustic tent campers this is your spot! The site was non electric which was lovely, just the sounds of nature (and there is a lot of it!) and a whipping wind on the tent. The hosts allowed us to charge our phones (for picture taking!) outside at the barn, and there is a one person bathroom with small shower in the barn. We did not use the shower, and admittedly we were a little worried when we saw it was one toilet for all guests, (When you gotta go you gotta go!) but on night one we were one of two families visiting and on the second night it was just us so this was not a concern and we were perfectly content with the amenities. We ended up horse back riding which was wonderful. Our daughter hasn’t stopped talking about it, and laying on the goat trampoline talking to the donkey may have been the highlight for me! If you need something just ask, the hosts are gracious and kind. We can not wait to go back and stare back up at that beautiful sky, shooting stars were abundant and the moon shining over the land is something that will take your breath away. What a unique experience! Thank you!!!
Fun family campsite!
This was our first family camp out so we stayed close to home and we were glad we did! We had so much fun! The property was so beautiful and the animals were super friendly to us, our toddler, and our dogs. Host was accommodating and we would definitely stay again!
