My farm had been untouched for years and only used as hay farming. It is rolling hills known by the locals as "Butterfly Hill" Which the farm is home to many species of butterflies in the summer. I know the area was inhabited by native Americans many decades ago. I have found a few broken arrow heads over the years. The farm is beautiful and quiet.The cabin is set on a 28 acre hay farm beside a beautiful creek. The campsite has a fire pit, charcoal grill, and queen bed with sheets and comforter. You also have your own private privy located a short distance from the cabin. Plumbed showers will be available in the future but not at present time. I do have a solar bag shower available for you to use at camp if you want. The Love Shack is in a wooded area that can be explored or just enjoy the relaxation of a quiet farm. The Love Shack is very private and secluded. There is hiking,tubing, paddling, and brewery's just a short drive. Rockingham and Stokes county has a lot of fun activities to offer as does the small town of Madison, NC. The Madison Dry Goods store is featured on the Netflix show "28 days haunted". It's worth checking out.Hanging rock state park is about 30 minutes away and Mayo River state park is 15 minutes away.There are 4 rivers in my county that you can kayak and tube. I offer a propane heater for winter. Bring your own fuel for the heater. It's the green small tanks 🙂 You can have wood at the site for an extra charge or you can forage for down wood in the area. Feel free to pick up and burn any wood that's not being used for the camp. Please no cigarette smoking in cabin. If you can't come without your kids there is plenty of room for a tent. If you’re considering it just book!

My boys and I had an amazing time here. It was so so beautiful so much detail in everything there, you can tell this is a host who truly tries her best and does everything with excellence. It was an incredible experience. Hope to come out again during a summer instead since it was pretty cold lol.

Great Little A-frame

The attention to detail and thoughtfulness that Wendy has put into this space is exceptional. We really enjoyed the outside space and our dogs loved playing on the creek bank. I highly recommend for anyone that wants a nice little getaway and spending some time in nature.

Loved this stay! Wendy is a wonderful host who always made sure we had everything we needed. We went to Mayo River State Park and walked around downtown Madison. Such a perfect trip!

Can’t wait to come back!

Wendy has put such great intentionality into the Love Shack! She’s a dream host! If you forgot something at home, there’s a great chance you’ll find something that will help around camp. From a sweet hiking trail nearby to the super clean bathroom and multiple lounging areas around camp we could not get enough of this place, rain or shine!

Mystic Meadow Love Shack

The love shack was a perfect little hide away! Wendy really went above and beyond with all the little details and makes it a really special place. The outhouse was cleaner, nicer, and smelled better than 99% of public restrooms I've ever used (literally no smell in the outhouse). The bed was super comfy and she had soft flannel sheets on the bed so I was nice and cozy on those cold nights. Her property is beautiful too and I'm glad I was able to get a little hiking in without having to drive anywhere! If you do want to go to some other places she has a box full of great parks or things to do near by. I would highly recommend this spot and hope to make a trip back one day!

Mystic Meadow Love Shack

Wendy had an amazing little spot, it was so peaceful and quiet and there was a lot of stuff already provided there to do outdoor cooking, even a little fire wood set out for us to get started :)! Loved the creek and the dogs had so much fun, we even heard turkeys which was cool. Wendy made sure we checked in ok and made sure our first night went well which was very nice and appreciated! Would definitely stay here again!!
