Great place so close to home!
We very much enjoyed our time here! We brought the kids for a night of fishing and camping, and we did all of it. Plenty of fish to catch, and my kids caught a lot of them. The ground is definitely sloped down toward the pond, but we were able to find spots for two tents that were comfortable. You’ll definitely want a ground cloth and a sleeping pad - the ground is sloped and also very uneven with roots and ruts and such. The sites are very close together - but we were the only the people there, so that was a non-issue. However, if it was full, it may not have been as enjoyable a time. But we will definitely be back!
Alright place to camp
Nice camping location in great proximity to Raleigh. Pros: nice spot by the pond, great breeze and nice fire pits, decent spot size, and some older reviews expressed concerns about signage and porta-potty cleanliness we found both to be great. There was water at the site with was nice. Cons: The sites were right on top of each other. Site 1 was well spaced out but we were in site 2 and site 3 was right next to us with very little privacy. Site 4 was also very close. Our recommendation would be to pick site 1 if available. The sites were also not very level with no real place to put your tent on a flat ground. Site 2 was also the hole for hole 2 of the disc golf course so our car was parked right at the basket, thankfully nobody was playing disc golf so it wasn't much of an issue but if someone missed it would have hit our car or tent. Another thing to note is the sound travels from yurts across the pond. There was a group of college guys partying all night till about 1am we could hear them yelling and messing about. All in all it was a good place which I would recommend with the above caveats. If I needed to camp by Raleigh I would consider going again.
Quiet, relaxing and tension free!
The property was wonderful. Close accommodations on the tent’s but everyone camping is friendly.
Went fishing and kayaking. Easy access to the kayak or if you have a small canoe. Didn’t catch any fish but they were there. The fire pits were nice on each tent spots but make sure you bring your wood and enough. It’s pitch black once the sun goes down so make sure you have dinner early or bring extra lighting to see. The internet was spotty was still usable for ovine access.
Overall my stay was fantastic!!
Truly an amazing stay!
This place is a perfect getaway! Plenty of food and commerce within 10 min, but you are way off the highway on a beautiful pond. I already booked next weekend for my birthday to go back! We will stay here anytime we need to unwind.
