Great view of Wesser Bald and the valley. Wesser Bald fire tower is visible through binoculars.

Beautiful spot with amenities
The campsite was amazing! Jim has really put together something special. We stayed on a rainy winter night, and it was still very accessible and easy to setup at. He had provided everything you could possibly need, while nature provided the rest
We enjoyed our stay at Martin's Nest #1. Very nice site - good fire ring, picnic table, awning and lights were a nice touch. Access to the site was a bit steep, but we made it up in our camper van without issue.
Wonder nantahala camping spot!!
Awesome campsite within about a mile of the Nantahala Outdoor Center. 15 or so minutes to Bryson City. Top hillside for both camps #1 & #2 have great views looking southerly. Potable water, small privacy bathroom tent and solar night lights all make this a great place. You can also hear the stream that's on Wesser Creek Road.
Camp#2 actually has a tree house for campers to sleep in
Nice views, quiet stay
This was our first trip to the Nantahala Gorge. We decided to stop for a night of car camping after a work meeting in the region. The campsite was easy to find and not to far off the highway, but far enough that you don't hear traffic. The campsite was peaceful with nice views and accommodating features. I would return to the site in the future. We never were able to find a shower on location, unless it was the spigot hose.
This site is absolutely gorgeous. Very well set up and well thought out.
We had no trouble getting to the site with the given instructions and our 2 wheel drive vehicle.
We will absolutely be back
The view is absolutely incredible. It is worth staying here for the view alone. Like others have said, it does get hot during the midpoint of the day. I had a great experience and Jim gave some good hiking suggestions as well. Overall, it was a great time.
Private camping in the nantahala
This is an amazing spot. It is a few minute drives to the Nantahala. If you are rafting or kayaking I cannot suggest this spot more.
My partner and I were just here to get out of town and enjoy the mountains. We found plenty to do not related to white water. There is fishing, waters falls, forest roads to explore, and plenty of lakes around.
This camping spot is also a short drive to Gatlinburg and Ashville. There are some great spots to stop to eat and shop in the surrounding cities.
We are very happy with our stay.
