We had an amazing time staying at Julie’s cabin. It’s the perfect amount of “roughing” it while still having amenities like running water and a bathroom. The cabin was great and we stayed dry and comfortable despite some seriously heavy rain. Also within driving distance of several fun cities to do things during the day.
If we ever find ourselves traveling out that Far East again, we’ll definitely look to stay here again.
The most beautiful cabin and piece of property!! We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone. So many sweet touches provided by Julie and loved sitting out by the campfire. Lovely place - definitely book it!!!
While this cabin is beautiful and well kept, I have mixed feelings about our stay. We reserved the cabin for three nights but only stayed for one. I understand there is no true heat, but I did not know that bringing a space heater would not actually heat a room. The ceilings are high and there are no inside doors to contain the heat to one room. The lack of insulation was a big surprise for us.
It is just like the photos, very beautiful and historical. The barn outside is lovely and there is a nice firepit as well. I left a message with the host explaining why we left early and an issue we had with the toilet but have not heard a response. Overall, I am bummed I spent $300 for a 15 hour stay.
Beautiful rustic cabin on a gorgeous piece of land!
This place is an incredibly magical and comfortable stay. The cottage really does feel like it’s from a time forgotten but still has important modern comforts like a bath and really lovely kitchen. The barn area was the absolutely perfect place for morning coffee abs an evening bonfire, and the host left many touches like snacks, coffee, bubbly water and firewood, to ensure that the modern day comforts were there too. I will admit that I was a little creeped out staying in such an old place by myself, but I loved it so much I stayed two nights. The proximity to the Smokey mountains and blue right parkway is u beatable.

Flashback to the 1920s, the simple life!!! This Homestead gives you the rustic "glamping" feel. Tucked away in the mountains of Clyde, NC. 45 mins from Asheville. It's all decorated old timey, my favorite was the antique tub and old school chess set!! No heat, so we where prepared with 4 space heaters which warmed up nice and toasty. After returning from some breweries and awesome steak dinner we made a fire 🔥 which was interesting with all the strong winds. I give this place a 10 star, plus the price was affordable!!

Julie’s homestead is such a sweet little getaway! We were instantly charmed by this cabin. No service but there are board games, chess, and books. She even left us some snacks. TN gets a bit chilly at night right now, and the cabin doesn’t hold heat quite well, but there’s a fire and space heaters. Also, the wool blanket on the bed made our sleep warm and cozy.

We are two old friends (24 years) that live several hours away from each other. We sometimes book a place to stay somewhere in the middle of our homes. This time we decided to book Julie's little cabin. We had a wonderful stay in the little cabin! If you are an antique lover, you will love the cabin's decor! So well done! We happened to be there when the nights were in the 40s. Even though there is no official heating, we were fine with the space heaters left for us. We snuggled under the blankets we brought. We spent time on the porch rocking away, in the field by the fire pit, under the shade of the awesome barn, and at the dining table playing Scrabble. (We found the game and some puzzles above the door leading to the upstairs bedroom.) My pup loved his time in the field as we sat at the fire pit. We will stay again!
One of my favorite adventures to date! The pictures and stories don’t do it justice - such an ideal wilderness adventure!

Hello Jessica, There is two space heaters and a wood burning fireplace but you are correct the home is not insulated... It is a renovated old Homestead home - we provide fans and A/C unit in the summer and Wood Stove and space heaters in the cooler months - closing down between Jan - March. This is in the property details and I'm sorry that you missed it. The toilet worked fine upon the cleaner and handyman's walkthrough just to be sure. We try to provide the best experience possible for all guests.
