Long grass, dead bird, no power.
Lawn surrounding homes was about a foot long. Hasn’t been cut in weeks. For the price of this listing, I think they could have mowed. With lots of deer in sight, not ideal with ticks and your feet are consistently wet.
As everyone mentions, power / solar power doesn’t work in cabins. We came prepared for that with battery chargers and lanterns. The battery in our cabin made a beeping all night. We had to flip the switch outside to end this.
Dead bird was found in the shower/sink area. Sink was full of leaves.
It’s on a remote area of a farm. Pretty site, but no instruction was given on how to get back to houses until I called while on site driving around in the dark. Not a simple drive back, you need instructions.
We are regular tent campers and cabin campers. This experience was seriously sub-par and I would not recommend.
A great getaway
Second time visiting & we can’t wait to come again! A perfect getaway with everything you need. The kitchen with the gas grill is great for making meals to have by the fire.
Cute and perfect
Such a fantastic little spot. It was great to get away from the city and just put my feet in the grass. Host was very nice about us need a little bit more wood for the fire. And the cabins were very clean and cute. You'll totally enjoy it.
City escape in the time of covid
Great find for two friend groups looking for a getaway while still physically distancing during times of Covid. Wagons were very clean, tastefully designed, and well ventilated upon arrival. Landscape was beautiful. Outdoor kitchen was stocked with all the tools you'd need including running water. Gas grill was a great add.
Pit toilet needs some TLC -- broken platform plank we almost fell through a few times and splintered seat. The open air view is lovely, but a half swing door for some privacy, as it's alongside the path to the site) would be great. A roof cover for rain too.
We never had electricity in the wagons -- one solar panel had been drained, the other didn't seem to work at all. Bring your own phone battery packs.
Note: Veggie add-on is pick-up from their farm stand vs. a "picking experience." They were delicious. We ordered bacon and eggs -- upon arrival was told they were out of bacon. Eggs were never brought.
The Hay Wagon Tiny houses were great! The site was private and the farm was beautiful. It was nice having access to a kitchen area with a grill and we loved the firepit. The houses were nice and cozy although we spent most of our time grilling and hanging outside. Would definitely want to come stay again!
The site was lovely and relaxing. Only advice I’d give for fellow campers is to bring an external battery for charging electronics as the solar panel on the roof gets depleted a little quickly when charging phones/keeping fans on, etc. But all in all, it was a stunning spot and I would absolutely return!
Dreamy, relaxing, fun
Pioneer Farm is relaxing, picturesque, charming, with the perfect amount of comfort and natural beauty. We enjoyed the secluded, natural setting. Our hosts left loving touches throughout, and a thoughtfully equipped outdoor kitchen that met our needs. The tiny houses were charming and comfortably furnished. We would stay again!
The hay wagons are adorable. The site had everything you need for a real glamping experience— and more. There’s an outdoor kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, gas grill, sink; an outdoor shower and additional sink and a compost toilet. Our only complaint was that the toilet seat is wood and splintery. Also, this looks remote but the roads are not far off so you can hear some cars going by occasionally. The highlight is the beautiful pool. Even though the pool is shared with others staying in the house and creamery we didn’t have any conflicts with use and safety! Matthew and Olivia were helpful and responsive. What a lovely place to spend a few days.
