Great little spot!
This was a great spot, close to a cute town and some fun hikes. We stayed in campsite #2 and there were people at campsite #5 but there was enough space and trees in between us that it felt like we were alone. I would definitely stay in campsites 2,4, or 5 again. Also, we paid extra for firewood and it was neatly stacked and cut when we arrived!
Beautiful camping hideaway
This site was spacious and beautiful, especially nearing peak fall foliage. Perfect for a weekend of camping, hiking and listening to wildlife. Can't beat the location, right around the corner from major trailheads to Indian Head Wilderness and Kaaterskill Falls, but without the crowds of North/South lake campground!
For those concerned about lack of running water, just bring enough water to wash and you can use the PortaJohns right up the road at Scutt Road trailhead. No big deal!
Matt and family were very welcoming and gracious hosts, made sure we were well situated with plenty of firewood. Thanks again Matt!
Near some awesome hiking trails
Great spot to stay with hiking about 5 minutes away. Site was clear and (Matt) the host made sure there was firewood was at the site before our arrival,
We were in lot 4 which was a dirt patch next to a pond, full of mosquitoes The people next to us were blasting music late into the night, which is not really the fault of the place itself but to note that it can be crowded and VERY LOUD. Wouldn’t recommend and I personally won’t be camping here again. The guy is nice though, came to check on us when we set up camp and offered us firewood.
My friends and I had a great time at Site #5. There was a nice fire pit and lots of space to put or tent and other supplies. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice secluded spot.
Vista-centric hotspot bargain
Really close to kaaterskil falls and a bunch of other hotspots in the area. Had plenty of room and was level, with a fire spot. Host is nice and accomdating, and the price is the best I saw for like 50 miles in any direction. Was tricky to find the right road because google hasn't updated the correct road name, but update is pending and the signs and directions were good and was easy after that. Good luck Matthew , hope the surprising influx of campers are helpful with your expanding family!
