My adk favorite
This is one of my favorite spots to camp at! This is my second time coming and will come again! Great views, very clean and nice out house, and close to every hike and town. Big Lou even came down and helped us start a fire! One thing to note, you can hear the freeway from the camp. It doesn’t stop me from loving this place but it is something to keep in mind.
Private, clean campsite
The directions to get to the site were very helpful! The signs were clearly marked. We stayed at Site 5, which was the furthest from the entrance (not a problem because you drive and park at the site). Campsite 5 was private and had ample space for our car and rent. There were a couple of chairs, a fire pit, and a picnic table. The site also came with a very clean outhouse. The views from this site were beautiful. One thing to note about this site is that while I couldn’t see the road that the site is close to, I could still hear cars from the road. This wasn’t a big deal because it was not a very busy road.
We stayed at site 3, with a beautiful view of the mountains and plenty of space for 2+doggo! It is right next to site 2, and the road leading to the other sites passes in front so we often saw other campers driving out in the morning and back in the evenings. You can hear some noise from the highway nearby especially at night, but we didn't really mind. AT&T does not get service at the site, so download your maps to access offline before arriving. There are so many beautiful hikes in the area, especially in the fall. I had an absolutely wonderful weekend here and would 100% recommend!!
Must stay in adk
This site in literally gorgeous! We took a 12 day trip around the north east to see the leaves change and this was definitely our favorite spot to camp at. Super private and well maintained, absolutely beautiful view.
Nice site and close to the ferry ⛴
A great place to park a campervan! Wish we would have gotten to the camp earlier, as we arrived real late. We did have an opportunity to have a quick fire, and relax in the super comfortable chairs! The picnic table was new and nice. Our neighbors were a little close, but it actually was comforting knowing that people were near us. We would definitely camp here again. The absolute best part was realizing when we got there that we could save 3 hours from our drive by heading 15 mins away to the Essex Ferry and cruising over to Vermont!!
Beautiful views! The campsite was private enough that we were able to play music & enjoy our night without worrying about disrupting other campers. Lots of land to explore, close and easy to get to high peaks, Keene Valley, Lake Placid etc. Would definitely camp here again.
