The Flats
Great river - poor site if rainy
We booked to stay on the flats as it was for large groups - we got there and set up but were then told by the host to move “up the hill” due to the areas risk of flash flooding. Understandable however overly cautious given we had barely any rain - but no communication provided prior about where we would actually be allowed to camp apart from
“Higher”. What we got was a sloppy patch of mud on a slope in the orchard and a small patch of higher ground - split by a cattle grate and barbed wire fence. Given the host knew how many parties were coming (kids included) - there wasn’t enough room for us all to camp together. If we’d seen what we paid for - we would have cancelled.
The area itself is not well maintained - the host kindly slashed the area however it was churned up from
The tractor and FULL of prickles, stinging nettles and cow pats which was not ideal with young kids. We spent a good half hour digging them out of our site.
The river was fantastic however and we enjoyed that a lot! Fairly shallow so not sure how it would go after a period with no rain. There is no access to the water for any other camps so being on the cattle grate meant that the poor other campers in the area all had to pass through us to get to the water. They were not too impressed either.
Toilet is a fair walk from the flats but workable. Great shower. We made the best of it, and the host was lovely but for the money we paid - definitely would not return. There are much better areas on offer.

Riverview Site
Camping at Riverview
The location of The River Orchard is in a beautiful part of Northern NSW and our campsite, Riverview was set in a lovely spot, about a minutes walk to the flowing Oxley River.
Lots of grass and shaded by a large tree this was the ideal spot for our group of 10 with lots of space and not too close to our nearest camping neighbours.
The host Michelle was always all smiles and regularly attended to the facilities during a busy Easyer Weekend.
Would highly recommend.
JOIN A FRIEND'S CAMPSITE
For 20 people the site was a little too small and the toilet and shower was a very long way away! It was so muddy due to all the rainfall the week before that we were slipping to get to the toilet! It would have been better if we had a portable toilet for our campsite close by.

Pine Hideaway
Beautiful private campsite
Beautiful property was just what we needed to unwind and reconnect away from the suburban life. Campsite was lovely, private and peaceful. Facilities were clean. The river was a dream for cooling off. The horses roaming by just topped the experience. The kids loved it, the dogs loved it. Have not stopped raving about it since we left. Michelle is a lovely host, and her desire to create a place to stay that isn’t overcrowded has been achieved! Thank you so much Michelle. Hopefully we’ll be back!

Pine Hideaway
This place is glorious!! Love it so much. We stayed at Pine Hideaway which was very private and the view stunning and the short walk to the toilets and hot shower was an about 3-5 minute walk which was fine with us. The running creek for a swim was Devine. Will absolutely be back and stay longer next time!! Thank you Michelle.

Pine Hideaway
Hidden gem.
Absolutely loved our stay at this camping spot (Pine Hideaway)! The privacy was outstanding, allowing us to truly unwind and connect with nature. And oh, those views! Magnificent doesn't even begin to describe the beautiful scenery surrounding us. Also enjoyed river swim on a hot day! Close to town yet completely isolated. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a serene outdoor getaway.
