What a Super Host Tony was. Meet us coming into Garwin took us to his property plenty of peace and quiet with the odd emu and a beautiful landscape. Couldn’t ask for anything else. Tony than took us on a tour of the local opal fields above and beyond with information you can tell he really knows his stuff and loves opals. He was very accommodating letting us have showers each night and also a few vegetables from his pretty amazing veggie patch. We also were able to have our Labrador there with a fully fenced yard. Tony was friendly like we had known each other for years will be back next year. Our best stay yet!

It was the best experience!!!!

Tony was a great host. We had a great time and wish we had more time to stay. 4 nights was not enough, by the time you setup camp at Tony’s, enjoy the beauty of his surrounding property(and his great personal stories and local history), check out all Grawins cool sites, chat with the locals, do a mine tour, a day trip to Lightning Ridge(which is not long enough, the Bore bath was so good) and chat more with Tony around the fire it just goes too quick.

We will be back with more time on our next trip.

Thanks Tony 👍

Most rememberable time. Very friendly and helpful. Hubby loved going underground and kids finding gems on the kids table that Tony set-up for them, playing golf outback. Good location on the orange car door self tour (the Grawin, Glengarry, Sheepyard).

Tony was a fantastic host, He greeted us at the Club in the scrub and took us up a bush track to his place it was a great quite bushy spot, he has a long drop and plenty of space we had 2 camper trailers, tent, swags and gazebos. Garwin is such a lovely little community. The Hilton was our absolute favourite dinner & drinks spot. The owner and staff there were friendly and the food was great! Thank bubba!!
Tony took us to all three places, Club in the scrub, Hilton Pub and the Sheep yards. There was lots to do and see, Margs & Sweeney’s are a must out there and in the coming months there will be a new underground tourist attraction! Tony took some of us down his working mine and was so very informative about everything. The kids found opal and had necklaces made at Margs, We had such a great time exploring. If you love bush camping this is definitely the place to be. We will definitely be back. Lightning ridge was 70kms away we drive in for the festival and checked out the local attractions we were able to return to the quite of Garwin each night and enjoy a fire and drinks. When visiting the open mines in lightning ridge $50 for a family and the green car tour is a must, amigos castle was beautiful and worth the $5 entry. Only thing I recommend is grabbing plenty of bottled water and bringing it with you as it can be hard to source in the local supermarket. We give this experience and Tony’s outback camping a 10/10 👍🏻

Wow what a great place to stay in the middle of the opal mines. Tony was a great host to Kim and myself and he is a top bloke. He looked after us and his local knowledge and his many stories were great. Had beers with him at the fire and went to The Sheepyard for pizza and a beer with him the next night. He showed us his working mine and offered to take us down. He also gave us a couple of samples to take home. Thanks mate! Scott

Tony was a great host - the fire was made ready for us on arrival and he had some mats ready to put under our tents and swags. We had a lovely couple of days experiencing life on the opal fields, sitting out by the fire and watching the stars.
