The Riverbank Camp

Enjoy a hike/bike or horseride (BYO bike or horses) following bulldozed trails to the top of the hills with a view over into Queensland and the lovely Glenlyon Dam in the distance. There is a picnic area , tables and seating with a firepit to enjoy. We can supply a picnic basket of goodies including wine, cheeses, seasonal local produce eg pecans, figs, chestnuts, crackers etc, delivered to the picnic site. Please contact us before ordering to find out more. Usually an afternoon pursuit. If you find it too strenuous a trip on foot etc, ask us about dropping you off in our 4WD.

WE offer a Kayak/Canoe pickup and dropoff service so you can enjoy paddling down the Mole or Dumaresq River, ending up on the Qld Border back at the farm. Remember, you will need your own gear and lifejacket, we cannot take you if you dont have safe and effective gear. The river can be beautiful but it can be dangerous if you are not prepared. If the river is running fast or in drought conditions, things will change and you need to be aware of this. Please contact us prior to booking this and we can tell you more about current conditions but remember we have no control over the rain

We can hire yards for your horse, in the main stockyards cart your own water from tap/bucket etc, we appreciate you picking up manure after your horse and placing in feed bags for composting later. These yards may not be close to the campsite or cottage. Please enquire further before booking.

We can supply a lamb camp oven dinner with fresh vegetables, in the camp oven , ready for you to cook over your firepit and enjoy. Suitable for up to 6 persons. Start your firepit earlier in the day and we will deliver the camp oven to put over the coals, let it cook for 3-4 hours slowly and enjoy with crusty bread , maybe a good local wine or beer (BYO)

We can supply a toilet tent and portable camp toilet which will be using composting material which can be emptied. Cost is $10 per hire/visit, we will set up and explain use. We find this is an environmentally sensible option so the river is not polluted

NOTE Priced per family up to 6, which is a safe number to have around the young animals. Parents must accompany the children at all times. We can offer a fun couple of hours for children, feeding the chooks, collecting eggs, feeding the rare breed Wessex Saddleback pigs, maybe see baby lambs and calves in season, see and feed our Rare Breeds Silver Appleyard ducks. We are happy to tell the children what they want to know about farm life and animals they may see & answer their questions . This is usually in the evening around 4pm at feed time, a welcome cuppa is always on afterwards at the homestead for Mum and Dad

Start your trip off right with a bundle of firewood waiting for you at your camp for your first campfire, we supply the first load free to start you off. You might like to order more for an extended stay, we can deliver it to your campsite. The cottages will already have firewood for heaters and firepit, sufficient for your stay
