This camp site is on a large level area opposite the main dam and is bordered by the bush at the rear, and the track in and out of the property at the front. It has very easy access from the road so is ideal for RVs and caravans.

This area is perfect for nature lovers, you can go swimming and kayaking on the dam. The dam is frequented by water dragons, wild ducks, moor hens, and the roos also love this area. There is some flexibility in where you can camp around the dam, depending on the size of your group.

The farm has 100 acres of mixed native bush and orchard plantings for campers with own amenities (there are no shower facilities, and the woodland lakeside site is the only campsite with a toilet).

We have two beautiful dams that are great for kayaking or swimming, and creek frontage where you can fish. Beautiful views of Yarrahapinni Mountain to the east and hills out to the west and 40 acres of bushland to go walkabout. Geese and ducks free range the property. There is 1.5km of single track gravel road to the Pacific Highway. Good access for all types of vehicles.

Drinking water (tank water) is available from an outdoor tap at the farmhouse. Campers MUST have own amenities and leave no trace. There is a toilet dump point in Macksville, 10 mins away. Dog friendly as long as all dog poo is cleared up.

The village post office does great take-away food and the farm is 5 minutes from the Eungai Buffallo Farm cafe. There is also farm produce available for sale - collect fresh eggs for breakfast! Just 20 mins to Scotts Head and Grassy Head beaches and Yarrahapinni National Park. State Forest on the doorstep with motorbike trails heading out to the west.

Camped in a tent here with friends and it was amazing. Adam and Linda were great hosts providing all the information we needed well in advance. The farm is beautiful and very quiet!

Overall we had a lovely experience utilising the farm as a chill out spot and as a base camp to explore the area. We got bogged the first night after arriving late & navigating the wet site in the dark - rookie mistake. Despite this, we really enjoyed our stay at Kooinda Farm, and are very grateful for Linda & Adam’s help with water refills, mechanical help with our caravan, & caravan reversing lessons - all valuable for first time caravaners. Both hosts are welcoming & helpful.
(Highway traffic noise can be heard from the camping spot by the dam, so if that bothers you, we suggest selecting the compost toilet spot as it’s by the other side of the dam sheltered with many trees.)

A lovely setting but because the weather has been so wet the usual flat camp area is saturated. The remaining slope is difficult to find a place to level even with blocks.

Hipcamper Vicki

Quiet, picturesque and pleasant.

Stayed for one night in my van. I had to be somewhere the following day otherwise I would have stayed longer. It was so peaceful and picturesque by the dam. Could hear frogs and birds by the water. I would definitely recommend.

A great little private spot not far from the highway. Fairly level. No issues with access with our 20’ van. Pretty dam nearby which begged to be explored. Unfortunately we were only staying overnight, and it rained, but I can imagine it being a lovely spot in nicer weather.
