Hilltop field and forest camping with wonderful mountain views, plenty of privacy, surrounded by nature, offering unparalleled star gazing. Miles of trails on the property, and several beautiful lakes and rivers nearby. The White Mountain National Forest is close by with endless recreational opportunities during every season. Many sites have a small fire ring for campers to have a very small fire only if following the rules which are described in the rules section. Most sites have chairs or a picnic table. It is first come first served. There is a porta potty on the property, please bring toilet paper and hand sanitizer. You may want to bring firewood, and definitely bug spray- we are way out in the woods.... We hope you enjoy our off the beaten path paradise as much as we do! Have fun and be safe!

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
The property was fairly easy to locate. We really didn't spend much time at the camp as the fall colors were just exploding at the time. The proximity to nice towns like N. Conway was very attractive. The camp had the communal port-a-pot facility at the top of the hill and was nice. Noticed bit of a slant at the site we were in but nothing we couldn't handle. One thing I might add is that the arrival instruction stated not to take our vehicle to the site. But this would've made it difficult to set up camp upon arrival so I went ahead and took our van to our site. Once our camp was established, we took the van back up the hill. I think some folks would've taken the instruction to heart and carried all of their supplies down the hill, which is a good distance for some sites, by hand and I think it is not the best way to set up the camp. I don't exactly know the intent behind the instruction but we did what we needed to do.
Beautiful but a little strange
We got to The Hill around 5:00 pm and looked around at the handful of sites to choose from. Most of them were not level at all and had no good spots to put up a tent. Probably half of them had junk in them that looked like it had been there a while. Broken chairs and tables. Dumping grounds. There were no other campers there so we got the one good spot with a very nice fire pit and view and flat ground for our tent. In the site next to us was a beat up tent that was half fallen over and looked like it had been there a while. Made us wonder what had happened and why it was left there/never cleaned up. Not the best experience honestly.
The views on a clear day and clear night are absolutely beautiful from this location, and its not too hard to find given the hosts instructions. My group had a beautiful afternoon hanging out in the area enjoying the sights and sounds of this Madison NH wilderness then had a campfire to be able to cook dinner while the sunset and the sky filled up with an incredible amount of stars. I do wish I saw that previous campers had taken ALL their trash, but we made sure to do our part by cleaning up even by unfortunately not being able to haul away bigger trash others had abandoned.
Regardless I give this a solid thumbs up as a place to stay so long as youre prepared, Id come back here in a heart beat! Thank you Hillary, we loved our stay!
Easy camp experience. Rode our motorcycles across the field and easily found a spot in the dark. There were open air spots and wooded spots available. We chose a open air spot with a good view of the stars.
Peaceful field camping near conway
We had an amazing time! This was our first Hip Camp and we didn't know what to expect, but Hillary was very helpful and responsive over text to all our questions. The site was beautiful, with a full view of the field and plenty of sky for the stars. Made for a great view cooking breakfast in the morning as well. Keep your eyes peeled and you might meet Judah, a friendly outdoor cat who loves pats and leg brushes. Would stay here again!
Beautiful field and woods with plenty of private site options. Some sites weren't quite flat. The site we chose was nestled in the woods off the field and was really cozy. Unfortunately the spot was last used by a very messy group, and as Hillary states, she doesn't clean up the sites, so we had to fill nearly a garbage bag full to clean it up (yuck). But at night we heard only owls and in the morning only birds. Was a good deal and we'd do it again, but next time I'll bring some work gloves!
Highly not recommended
Unfortunately, this was not a good camping experience. We have not met or even seen the host during our stay. They did not seem to care who comes to camp there or what was happening on their property. Fortunately, fellow campers were nice people.
We only stayed for an overnight visit on a Saturday night.
The site was nice as described with no defined spots in a large field and some in the woods. However, there were some rubbish scattered in the bushes such as an old cart, kids bike, rusty steel tubes.
There were too main reasons for my negative review:
The barn - it is indicated in the site description that the barn is used occasionally for parties, however, I was not expecting an all night drunken party with very loud music until 2AM+. I don't need to go camping to have this experience. I can just stay in the city in a hotel with a window over looking a pub.
Camp sites - it's free to set up your tent where ever you like. Sounds good. However, this means another camper can just setup next you as well. We had someone arrive after 10pm and put up their tent 15 feet away giving us no privacy. In my opinion, the site was over crowded.
