The property is only about 12 miles from Montello as the crow flies and about 25 miles from highway 233! You can be surrounded by peace and quiet in a secluded natural landscape but not too far from civilization. Wells and West Wendover both offer Vegas Style gaming, restaurants, and services. The town of Montello offers services such as a gas station, two saloons, a grocery store, an elementary school, and a landing strip for small aircrafts. This is a very large piece of land. The dimensions are ¼ mile X ¼ mile. The perimeter of the property is one miles around. 40 acres of land is the equivalent to over 32 football fields. This is an especially nice Ranch for this area due to its location, views and terrain. This mountain property has commanding views of the surrounding area.  You can see glorious mountains and hilly terrain from this property. The terrain of the property has cedar and some juniper trees on it, native grass land and sage brush. The property is flat to rolling hills. There are flat places and hills for those spectacular mountain views. This property has a little bit of everything. There is sage brush covering the lower part of the property. The elevation of this property is from about 5800 feet on the lower levels to about 5900 feet on the hill tops. This property is remote and secluded. There are no utilities nearby. This property is perfect for the individual who desires peace and quiet coupled with natural splendor.  So much more land you can enjoy! This property is ideal for camping , riding horses and hunting. The area boasts one of the largest antelope and healthiest deer populations in the country. I have heard by locals that getting a deer tag is not as competitive as other places in Nevada, Utah and Arizona. There are also cougar, elk, rabbit, quail, and grouse. I have seen large hawks and eagles as well. As shown by the aerial photo, there are dirt roads to the property along the southern and western borders of the property. This is high country which offers a diverse climate. The elevation is around 6000 feet which offers a much cooler summer than other Nevada properties. The summer has a dry afternoon with temperatures in the 90’s, cooling to the low 40s and 50s by morning. Winters are moderate with lows in the 20s or 30s. Snowfall averages 42 inches per year and generally melts quickly. There are sunny skies 300 days during the year! Enjoy your stay .

Directions were great! Desert camping is beautiful! But, I think you should know the site to camp is right next to the railroad. We could not sleep at all as 8 trains went right by us throughout the night. A ‘Not So Peaceful Retreat.’

Awesome stay! Was very quiet and the views were beautiful. Would definitely stay again. Tip: If you are a light sleeper maybe bring some noise cancellation on the off chance a train goes by while you are sleeping.

This is exceptionally secluded, and other than the trains passing through, private. There is not much level or smooth ground, so if you are in a van or camper ( small camper van is as big as you should use here, not much turn around space ), you’ll have to be an expert at leveling or be ok parking it on the “gravel road”. Tent campers, the same applies.
I made it work and enjoyed my night.
This is WILD camping, no amenities, or host to greet you. I am ok with that so it was no big deal, adds to the adventure.
Additionally, I was not 100% prepared but should have thought about this, there are signs, paw prints and scat, of large feline. I never saw any, but there were multiple scat locations of various age.
