Absaroka Foothills
If you are looking for complete seclusion surrounded by stunning foothills, a babbling brook and your very own fire pit...this is it. If, however, you are in any type of RV go to Big Timber and come in via the west entrance. Unless you want to shake every past and future problem out of you rig, the 17 miles of cattle road from the east is painful. That said, it is WELL WORTH the long way around.

Beautiful, Primitive and Quiet
The land is beautiful. Very quiet. We heard an truck go by on the road every hour or so during the day but mostly heard the river.
We stayed in mid-October and had some rain and low clouds but that was to be expected. We warmed up by our campfire and watched our dog snoop around for critters in the grass and wade in the stream. When the clouds
shifted we could see up into rolling hills and ridge lines with no houses or buildings in sight.

Beautiful! Remote, quiet. With some effort, we were able to find a flat spot for our 31 ft fifth wheel. Fishing was fun, not a lot of catching though. A campfire and big sky was a perfect ending to our time there.

Simply incredible!!
This was literally the best campsite we’ve ever stayed at. We are in the middle of a multi-state road trip and this was perfect. ~30 min off 90 but completely away from it all. The stars ✨ at night were magical!!
We stayed at site 5 right by the creek and fell asleep to coyotes and woke up to a bald eagle. Highly recommend. Thank you so much for sharing this place with us!!

Stayed in spot 5. Couldn't ask for a better place. It was quiet and next to West Boulder. Easy to get into and out.
