Description

Canyon Creek Cabin was built in 1930 as a guard station and sits in the middle of an old mining district. You’ll see mining remnants—like charcoal kilns, cemeteries, and old buildings—as you explore the area. The cabin has bunks beds that can sleep four people, a fold-down table and folding chairs, basic kitchen and eating utensils, and a wood-burning stove. There is no electricity or running water, and a vault toilet is nearby—BYO propane for cooking! A creek runs alongside the cabin, and Wise River is nearby. We recommend the five-mile hike up to glacial lakes in the mountains, accessed by a trail near the ranch on Forest Road 7401.
