Very basic but good spot to camp. Be aware there are no extras at all - it's solely a place to camp. Just outside town, it's near the main road but it's not too busy or loud. We saw a pretty sunset and enjoyed the nice evening weather. There are some bugs, rusted steel equipment, and an unused truckbed camper. We appreciated the easy arrival as we left quite early.

Shaded Retreat is conveniently just off the RT 89, shaded, and just a short drive to Glacier NP, that’s the plus side of this HipCamp. Road noise was not a problem for us.

I don't think it's the best place if you have children. There is lots of old equipment and supplies sitting around the camp, a roll of barbed wire, and two rusted barrels full of rusted paint cans. The area where the picnic table and firepit were needed to be mowed.

Shaded area Rusted barrels Barbed wire, etc.Overgrown grass around table and firepit.

The title "shaded retreat" says it all. The site was well groomed with great trees. We enjoyed the nearby Bynum Reservoir, great for boating, paddleboarding and swimming.

My friend and I had a lovely stay at the Shaded Retreat on our way up to Glacier. The directions were extremely clear, and we didn’t need to interact with the host once! The site was clean and quaint, a convenient distance from the main road but noise wasn’t an issue.

We had the best time in this spot. We were secluded so we could be loud and our pup could be off leash the entire time. He loved it. We had so much fun the first night we ended up booking a second night. Access to the river was slightly harder then expected. But they have an amazing spot with some helpful tools/firewood in a camper on site. Beautiful night sky and shade all day. It was excellent

We enjoyed seeing the wildlife, the great fire pit, owner communicated well, we loved building a fire and it was easy because of the firewood provided.

We came self sufficient so the place was perfect for one night stay. Picnic tables fire pit and wood was all set up. Plenty of flat ground for tents.
Saw lots of deer. Nice little spot off highway

The site was awesome for what we were looking for! We were on our way through to Glacier and decided to make a stop for the night. We got there as the sun was going down so even though the road was close, you couldn’t even tell with the trees and seclusion. The creek on the property was great to throw a line in and watch the sun set. I was nervous to get back to our site as someone had previously commented about tall grass and low vehicles being an issue. We drive a civic, but the grass was no match, it was easy to get back to the site! I recommend to anyone who is driving through and wants a secluded site.
