Sudden Valley Ranch is a peaceful paradise.  This is a family farm - 138 acres with 1.5 miles of creek (the depth of the creek depends on Mother Nature - but you can typically find a swimming hole year round).  There are woods, hills, ridges and open pastures/hay fields; we sit in a large valley with beautiful views.  We have horses, chickens, a farm dog and barn cats.  We have a large seasonal garden.  You may see wild life - deer, turkey, rabbits, hawks, eagles and raccoons.

We offer 2 rustic tent campsites that are separate and private from our home and each other.  You may easily walk or drive to the campsites.  Each campsite has a private outhouse, and a fire ring with an ample supply of wood.  You have access to fresh well water through a spigot.  We have a four-man tent available for a fee.  Ticks are a concern during the month of June - you may want to bring bug spray.

Warrenton is located about 30 miles north of Washington, Missouri.  Washington is a quaint town located on the Missouri River with several wineries in the surrounding area.  We are also about 24 miles north of Marthasville where you can ride the Katy Trail.  Hermann, Missouri is 34 miles southwest of us - another quaint town whose seven wineries produce about one-third of the state's wine. Big Joel's Safari and Long Row Lavender farm are both located in Wright City less than 10 miles away.

Come and relax, read a book, draw/sketch/paint, or simply let the sounds of nature lull you to sleep.  We believe you will leave rejuvenated!

SV Ranch is a total gem! The grounds of the farm are stunning, and the campsite is perfectly situated by a lovely creek. Randy and Milissa really go all out in providing for their campers with all the cooking utensils and supplies. Their outhouses are even super cute. Excellent spot for canine friends as well!

We absolutely loved our stay here! We had a new 23’ trailer camper and it was our first time dry camping with it. They allowed us to take the camper down across their field into the enclosed camping area and the next day our friends joined us with their camper. They have easy access to portable water before the drive down to the campsite. Do note there is a tight turn by the barn to get onto the road that leads to the campsite, but it’s doable just take your time. From the time we arrived till the time we left they were so accommodating, they even cut back all the low hanging branches along the road so it wouldn’t scratch our camper. Once down at the campsite it has a great fire ring, outhouse, and cabinet filled with camping essentials. The creek is right there and has a great beach area. It was hot so we spent the day sitting in the water on floats visiting and listening to music. Since it was hot we were also able to set up our generators on the other side of the fence, away from the campers, and run air conditioning when needed. It was peaceful, remote, and quiet. We felt like we had the place to ourselves. Overall everything turned out way better than we could have ever imagined! We will absolutely be camping here again!

Highly recommend staying at Sudden Valley Ranch (whether it was a nod to Arrested Development or not). This trip was the first in our new travel trailer, so we wanted a place that had all the amenities on site, just in case, but that was secluded enough that we wouldn't see or hear anyone else. Their place is perfect. We had originally planned on staying at the Pasture and Creek sight, but due to some really bad storms the night before that dropped a tree in the road leading to that site, we had to stay on the Hideaway Ridge site. Randy was super helpful and friendly, and we were set up in no time. We walked the property with our dogs, visited the creek, and relaxed without seeing or hearing another soul. The outhouse on site was spotless and bug free, and there were water pumps located at multiple places on site. Long story short, Randy and Milissa's property is gorgeous, and we'll definitely stay again. Three sites to choose from, and their all far apart from the others, secluded, quiet, and beautiful.

Top of the ridge. Sun sets behind the trees for plenty of shade in the evening, and rises over the valley with an amazing morning view.

This was our first camping trip with our two young daughters and it was perfect. Gorgeous piece of property with private campsite right along the creek. Super clean toilet and great picnic table and cooking area. The owners thought of every detail and you can tell that they put a lot of love into it. My girls loved exploring the creek, skipping rocks and finding geodes. Seeing the barn cats, dogs, rooster and horses were also really cool. We will definitely be visiting again soon. Thank you for sharing your ranch with us

This was such a perfect campsite! Seriously felt like paradise. My brother and his wife are avid cyclists and they were swooning over all the amazing routes nearby. We cooked incredible meals which were made much easier by the convenient setup and all the extra cooking utensils and supplies stocked at the site. The only reason I would say not to book it would be becuase I want to keep the available weekends all for myself ;)
