Sleep in (or under) the biggest White Oak in the County. We currently allow only one party at a time at this premium location. You will be the only party to use the area during your stay. The view is incredible and unobstructed. Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful. Ten minutes from I-70. Most campers set up under the tree and just hang out in the treehouse. However, some campers with a smaller tent choose to camp in the Treehouse. The tree house is not a house until you put your tent on it. It is a deck that is well made and has solid guard rails. The location is over 200 yards from our residence and is very private. In spite of the remoteness, free high speed Wi-Fi (with no password) is available at the site. We have never had a camper tell us that they had no phone reception either. The view is amazing in ALL directions. Native Americans used this location heavily as evidenced by abundant stone artifacts. They were the original campers here! The best view is of the Missouri river bottoms. I'm sure this is why the Native Americans used this site. Wildlife is abundant. It is usually very quiet except for the frogs, birds, coyotes, and crickets. There is a water hydrant about 150' away. Electricity for charging phones, etc. can be accessed at the barn. We have a full size, but not ADA, portable toilet at the barn.

We enjoyed the tree house but if you are afraid of heights or don’t trust ladders this is not the place for you. There is plenty of space to hang hammocks. They provide fire wood, a table, a rope, and some other stuff
The Big Oak Treehouse was awesome. There is very little light pollution so the moon, stars and clouds were magical. Got to meet all the horses at the retirement ranch which made it even more special. Can’t wait to go for an extended stay next month.
This place was AMAZING!! Such a beautiful property and Doug and Johnny were so friendly and accommodating! The dogs had a blast! The treehouse was super cool. Next time we will probably come without our dogs so we can spend more time in the treehouse. A nice, unique, peaceful getaway! We will definitely be back! 😁
Top tier site & hosts
Directions were spot on. Doug greeted my daughter and I warmly when we arrived even after a last-mintue booking and gave us a rundown of the property and amenities at the site (Firewood was provided, potable water spigot, developed firepit, accelerant, washing station for dishes, nice outdoor chairs, picnic table, etc. Super well equipped). Getting in and parking was a breeze even in my large old truck, and ground was well manicured and level. The site itself was idyllic, the treehouse in the sturdy old oak has a great view over the lights of Columbia off to the east at sunset. Small pond, friendly farm dogs, restorative quiet of the countryside. Altogether great atmosphere and 10/10 stargazing, too. Doug kindly let my daughter pick fresh eggs from the chicken coop on the way out in the morning, sending us on our way with fresh breakfast and probably a core memory for my kid as well. The Selby Farm, Oak Treehouse site, and host were all so excellent, I almost hope that no one finds out about them so I can book about six more stays through the fall. Strongly recommend.
