An exclusive, quiet space on the St. Francis River located just upstream from Class III/IV whitewater for those with a taste of adventure (requires training). While you stay on the campground, enjoy fishing, bird and wildlife watching, giant yard games, and personal campfires. While hanging out on the banks, catch all the bass, catfish and perch you want. Birdwatching is at its best in the mornings and afternoons. I have spotted Grosbeaks, Indigo Buntings, Swallows, Pileated Woodpeckers, Yellowthroat Warblers, Double-Crested Cormorants, Turkeys, Cardinals, Blue Jays, Barn Owls, Great Blue Herons, Flickers, and, yes, my favorite...Bald Eagles. On the ground, you add in the black snakes, deer, silver fox, armadillos, possums and woodchucks and are left with a delightful blend of wildlife right outside the city for you to enjoy at the campground. The sound of Coyotes yipping in the night is just a reminder that while we sleep there is a significant part of nature just waking up.
We pride ourselves and our campground for being a nice place for those looking to share conversation by a personal campfire during a comfortable nature getaway. Most of your neighbors will be trained whitewater kayakers or fishermen. Not a riffraff party place. No guns or shooting on premises. No illegal substances permitted.

Cozy little campground
We love it here! It’s a cozy little campground right on the river. Great bathhouse and kitchen/laundry facility. Perfect for a little getaway. The host had a great bonfire for Halloween weekend.
Convenient, clean, and quiet.
Second trip to CDM. I still can’t believe how close it is to Highway 67 and convenient it is to pull off for the night. The bathhouse is large and clean and makes for a wonderful hot shower in the morning before jumping back on the road. I timed this visit well to see some fall colors. The sunrise and sunsets are amazing with the wide open spaces.
Clean - quiet - friendly
Sarah was outstanding. The sun was going down, and I was getting tired from a long day on the road. We reached out Sarah and she guided us into the “full hook-up” spot right next to the bathhouse. Very nice. Very clean. Planning to stay there again soon. The cabins by the creek looked nice too.
Very small but clean camping. Only 2 full hook up R.V. sites that we could see. Things we liked: very quiet, very nice 1-toilet bathroom with good shower, pretty trees and flowers, cabins looked nice from the outside. Pretty view of the field behind us. Things that could be improved: a Cinco de Mayo sign at the highway, and dim down the outside lights on the bathhouse. Too bright. Gravel parking for our site was narrow so not much walking space between grass and gravel (no concrete) so you better have some good balance.
Excellent, highly recommend!
We enjoyed our stay immensely. Spoke with a Sarah over the phone, she was a delight, and JoJo the hostess was wonderful as well. The site was clean with a full hookup and a clean bath house with hot water. Great location right outside of town...we will be back!
Peaceful slice of heaven
We loved camping there! Peaceful, beautiful, and quiet. In addition to being clean, the shower/laundry house is brand new. Huge field to walk in (our dogs loved it too!). JoJo was a wonderful host and we will definitely be back.
It was a great, secluded home base for us to explore the Arcadia and Ste Genevieve tourist spots. The hardest part was backing up our 38’ trailer down the driveway but it is possible and worth the quiet nights with the St Francois river or starlit open field.
