When you want classic country charm
The minute you drive through the property gate you’ll know you’ve found the perfect place to relax. This property is extremely well maintained - from the camp site area to the portable restrooms. You’ll find the sites far enough from each other to give you privacy but still intimate enough for you to reserve adjacent sites for family and friends, if you choose.
And who doesn’t love animals? The horses, donkeys, pigs, chickens, and guineas all have their own personalities and are the perfect compliment to the beautiful old farmhouse and surrounding out buildings. Be sure to get the official tour from Cash, the little fluffy white dog. He clearly takes this responsibility seriously. He even made sure I met his much larger canine siblings and we made our way along the tour.
And of course none of this would be possible without an incredible host. Jennifer made sure I had good directions to arrive at the site. We communicated prior to my stay to discuss weather concerns and plan for the predicted thunderstorms. She made sure I knew my way around the property to make my stay even more pleasant and even delivered me a bucket of fresh eggs - which were fantastic.
All sites have views of the river and with a quick walk just yards away you’ll find yourself at the river’s edge. I took advantage of a break in the rain and took my backpack stove and coffee pot to the beach and set myself up before the sunrise to watch it wake. It was a pretty perfect morning for me. But you do you. Enjoy.
Oh, and I will definitely be back!
Jennifer was a fantastic host. So kind and gracious! Lots of amenities and easy to access on the farm. Beautiful site by the river, was so peaceful. Would love to camp again here!
The name says it all!
The name says it all! Fresh air, and the sounds of nature in the rolling hills and river valleys of MO, the spot is beautiful and the hosts gracious. Running water is available, showers, clean porta-john, trash cans. I would definitely recommend and would stay again.
Nice river camping
We rented a camp site to go with a cabin for overflow and to secure a spot near the river for our camp fire activities. The site was level, had nice fire rings, plenty of wood, benches, waste cans, etc. It was a few stair steps down the bank to the river. Really nice option for a campsite by the Bourbeuse river.
Quiet and relaxing
Our 2nd stay was just as great as the first one, Jennifer is super responsive and welcoming and the campsite is well taken care off and cozy nestled between lots of trees, the cabins above and river below with hardly anyone else around.
Very quiet and relaxing, just what we were looking for and we will be back.
Great camping site!
We had a great time at the campsite .Jenn & Andy were great hosts. She greeted us with some fresh eggs and let our son feed the animals in the farm. We were lucky to have been the only ones camping during our stay, if all 3 campsites were occupued it would feel crowded as the sites are kind of close.
The river is shallow and was perfect for our 2 yr old. We all had a great time sitting in the water and fishing. They have large wood logs for firewood so I would bring some firewood atleast till the larger logs catch fire. There is a hose for outside showers but the lady who was renting a cabin next to us was so nice and offered us her outdoor shower, 2 porta patties for all to use. All in all it was a perfect weekend, we had rain on Saturday for a few hours but it dried up towards the day. The property is beautiful and hosts are nice.
We actually came from two different parts of the country (Texas and Illinois) to stay. We LOVED the camp, the surroundings, and most of all the owners!! They made us feel like family. The horses, chickens, donkeys, and pigs were icing on the cake. We were able to hike everywhere, fish everywhere, truly a great place for families of all sizes. Lots of peaceful rest, on a very well kept property! We recommend it!!
