Peaceful lake cabin; few fixes need
Since the website is lacking customer reviews, going to give some candid feedback.
-Jennifer and Cle manage the property. They live nearby and are quick to respond. They will go out their way to accommodate to your needs. (I.e. the cane poles were lacking fishing line, hooks. Jennifer went to her house and brought her personal supply over for use).
-Directions get you to the cabin easily. And the property is marked with a street sign for easy identification.
-Cabin is stocked with everything you need. Towels, dishes, linens. Lots of little extra touches like spices in kitchen, books, cards.
-Beds are very comfortable.
-Lake is private. Only a few other houses on whole lake and they aren't right on top of you, so you have space and privacy.
-Benches on dock are nice for sitting and watching the kids swim/fish.
-Paddle boat was a blast for the kids!
-Lake is loaded with fish.
-The property needs some TLC outdoors. We were told that Gary, the grounds maintenance man, was hired a week ago. Thus I am guessing things will improve once he is able to get more hours put in. The house sits about 100 yards up on hill away from the water. Grounds have lots of leaves/down limbs that harbor snakes/spiders. We saw three snakes while we were there. I realize this is an outdoor campsite, but the yard is in need of raking (there is not much grass from what I saw, its mostly mud and leaves). Picking up some of the foliage may reduce the critters from being around.
-There was more trash than I expected on the grounds. We picked up numerous beer cans, left over worm containers, food wrappers, etc.
-The renters before us left fish in the live well. The smell of rotten, dead fish was nauseating. My husband had to scoop out the slimy, stinky mess. The boat needs a good wash too.
-The life jackets are unusable. They are piled in the corner of the boat "house" and an active snake is currently residing in the pile. I recommend packing your own life jackets.
-Dock is missing one wooden plank and half of another. (Safety concern for the kids). Screws are popping up on the dock, but a quick use of screwdriver would resolve that small concern.
