Very thoughtfully laid out and appointed sites. Really close to the freewy and the airport- read noisy. The noise didn’t bother us but if you’re sensitive to night time noise, beware.

Thank you for your visit, and we are 200 yards from the road and airport. The field does provide some noise proofing in the summer but the winter can get load. hope to see you again

What a wonderful place. This is a pitta me of hip camp. Quiet, few for miles, clean and a night sky full of stars. We loved it!

This was our second time staying at The Edge! It is the perfect location if you want to head into Rochester for the day. (Thesis project and Forager are our favorite breweries in town) We have stayed at campsite 4 both times and think it is the best site if you have 1 or 2 small tents. Larger groups or larger tents would be better off at campsite 1. The common area is very nice with a great view of the stars and a nice firepit with plenty of seating available. As other reviewers have mentioned the campsites are a little close to the highway, not close enough to see, but if you are very sensitive to sounds or are looking for a quiet spot in the woods this hipcamp might not be the best choice. It has never impacted our sleeping but some people might want to bring earplugs.

This was a nice and convenient spot right off the highway. It was a bit difficult to find the campsite in the dark, since it requires a short walk through the woods from the road. I would recommend arriving in the daytime if you can (or coordinating with Edward to get more detailed instructions--I didn't contact him when I arrived because it was pretty late). I got the camper as an add-on, and it was very clean and comfortable. The only downside is that it had a bunch of moths inside when I arrived. Hard to avoid with a camper in the woods, I guess! Overall, would recommend.

Great place to stay right off the freeway! Loved watching the moonrise over the neighboring cornfield.

Ed was an exceptionally nice host. He met us there and made sure we knew where everything was. He communicated with us later to let us know if another HipCamper was coming. He allowed me to plug in a mobile power source at his office for me to use at night at the campsite.

The camp is adorable and kind of primitive. There is no electricity for campers, no potable water, no showers, no trash dumpster. There are cute seating areas, multiple places for campfires, solar string lights for ambiance, well water for cleaning in a pinch, and a private compostable toilet. Although you can look out over the cornfields of central Minnesota, you also have to listen to an occasional plane take off at the airport across the highway. We reserved a basic tent spot, and he also has a cottage and camper for rent.

As long as you understand these comfort limitations, you should definitely stay at The Edge.

I didn't get to stay long as I was just passing through off I-90. Convinent location to detour off the highway for a quick mid-week nights stay. Sites looked nice and I was the only one there so I was able to choose the site that best fit my needs. Edward was super responsive to us via text. Lot's of space for my pup to run and frollic. Only downside is that I was able to hear road and airport traffic so earplugs would be usefull here.

Easy to find, clear paths from parking site to campsites, and nice secluded sites that were pretty well spaced. We stayed in the camper, which is in good shape. Just what we were looking for.
