I came back for seconds this year! I’ll be back for a third helping next year. The hosts are so sweet & thoughtful. You’ll love their furry friends too.

Such a neat little spot. Plenty of room for a few tents and some hammocks for lounging! Loved the easy access to firewood and an awesome setup for cooking over the fire. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

This was a beautiful place to spend a weekend. Super family friendly, but also just great for a couple to hide away for a few days. We arrived a touch later than expected due to Interstate traffic and Patty had already built a fire for us, just in case it got too dark for us to easily navigate our site. Super class act. Patty and Michele are the kind of people who care about the duck in the pond with the hurt leg and feed him and give him water. Super kind, beautiful place to stay, not at all far from Lacrosse!

Patty and Michelle have an amazing place to stay! Hearts Content was perfectly private with the occasional visitor from a cat or dog! It was so fun to wake up to chickens clucking in the morning. I would recommend staying here anytime and I am excited to come back again.

Patty and Michelle’s place was awesome! We camped and loved the spot. We sat by the trout pond for at least an hour and it was so peaceful. Patty and Michelle also set up a tarp for us because storms were predicted. They were hands on when we needed their assistance, and hands off when we wanted privacy. We would highly recommend their place. They were wonderful hosts and the land/water was amazing!

The campground was beautiful! Only a short walk from the parking area. There was a table to put your things near the fire pit, which is furnished with a wooden bench and a metal grate to cook/grill on. The trees even had a metal peg screwed in the trunk to secure your hammock!

Patty and Michelle are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and all of their farm animals are lovely. Willow the dog even moseyed up to our campground one night. She was excellent company! We watched some goats mow the lawn and appreciated some natural plants they must have planted recently. They even had species name tags!

As far as amenities, the running water is delicious and much appreciated. Shower is not heated (same hose as the drinking water) but refreshing on a hot day. Port a potty was as clean as a port a potty gets - a great facility for someone's backyard. The cave looks to be hand hewn and is incredible and went back farther than I expected. It's definitely worth the short paddle in. The canoe is provided and free to use!

It is clear they really care about their land and it was a joy sharing it with them.

We really loved staying at Heart's Content! Our little girls in the group really loved petting the two calm and curious donkeys. The dads in our group thought the canoe and cave were the best. The moms enjoyed the star filled sky under the trees and watching our littles run around to catch lightning bugs! This is a gem!
