Site 1 - large secluded wooded camp
Camping on Pamela's land is an experience that I will be recommending to anyone who will listen! She's one of the kindest people I've ever met and she's fantastic with children. It was really amazing getting to feed the animals and hike the land. The campsites are cozy and adorable themselves too! We will be coming back to hang out with Monty the camp cat as frequently as possible. He can hang out at my campsite anytime because he is such a love ❤️
Family friendly and a great place to get away from the city noise.

Site 2 - private pine meadow camp
Pamela’s campsites were extremely well kept, private, and scenic. She was a great communicator and we had no problems finding our site! Her farm is beautiful and getting to visit with the goats and sheep, help collect eggs, and hang out with Monty the barncat was a wonderful addition to our trip! We can’t wait to come back!
Pamela was a great host; she always responded to our messages, was fast to the site when we asked about buying more wood or getting more water, but wasn’t in the space without letting us know- the perfect balance when you’re looking to disconnect and spend time outside. Our wood and fresh eggs were waiting for us with our water when we arrived, along with tea lights for our table and a lighter for fire starting. Little touches that really stood out for us!
The gun club down the road was hosting an event and the noise was regular from 9am-9pm, For some of us it was more bothersome than others. It wouldn’t dissuade us from booking again, but If you are sensitive to gunfire it’s worth noting.
The outhouse was clean and well-stocked, as well as lit throughout the night inside and out for easy navigation in the dark.
Sweet Monty showed up our first night and was a constant back and forth companion ready to escort us to the pasture or cuddle by the fire!
Overall, Pamela’s camp has been one of our favorite places we’ve camped with Hipcamp so far- we are excited to visit again and experience the farm during different seasons- thank you Pamela!!!

10 out of 10
Pamela’s place was absolutely perfect!!! The directions were clear, communication was very easy, and the site was gorgeous. The fall leaves were turning and it was radiant! Bonus points: cleanest, most attractive outhouse ever :) 10 out of 10.

Great weekend!
We booked site 2, but ended up staying in site 1. Both sites 1 and 2 have fire rings, equipment to enable cooking over the fire, and a picnic table. The solar lights are a nice touch as well. Pamela is a great host and does a great job maintaining the facilities. The cat - Monty - blessed is with lap cuddles and several hours of allowing us to pet him. He even brought us a gifts of both alive and dead mice. We assured him that we were eating very well on our own, but thanked him still.
Great location, friendly host, awesome animals to interact with. We will be back!

Site 2 - private pine meadow camp
My friends and I tented at one of Pamela 3 sites and had an excellent time despite the rain. We explored the land and took up the opportunity to help with chores on the farm for the evening, and learned so much about the animals! It was a fun, cozy and a charming experience! Amenities were well cared for and instructions were clear. Pamela and her animals were a delight, highly recommend this unique stay!

we love camping at Hen and Hive! 2nd time there and we'll be coming back more! best compost toilet I've ever used :) the campsites are well distanced from each other so you have privacy but not too far from home base. some lovely touches we really enjoyed: all the animals nearby are THE BEST (special love to Gem the goat and Monty the cat), Pamela's super welcoming and kind vibe, having firewood already there with a starter kit, great fire pits with structures to cook on, hanging lights around the camp, and a 4 gallon container of potable water waiting for us when we arrived! good stargazing too 🌌
