It's summer in the Berkshires!  Fireflies are glowing, birds are twittering, owls are hooting and the farm and forest are alive.  The Berkshires are exploding with natural beauty.  Summer camping is at it's best: cool evenings and warm summer days.

Two different and separate, secluded tent sites are dotted around the farm. Each with it's own charm: 1) PondSide and 2) FieldEdge (aka Idaho).  If you prefer a roof over your head, check the "Hidden Cabin with Farm View" listing at Moon In The Pond Farm.  If you have a very small RV (converted van) check our RV site: "Camper-Van SweetSite w/views OG!"

Moon In The Pond is a small farm nestled on a quiet and picturesque dirt road in the southern Berkshire hills in Sheffield, Massachusetts. Raising food naturally and sharing the experience has been a strong and growing commitment throughout the farm’s 23-year history. Through production and education Moon In The Pond maintains a strong focus on the elegant integration of historic and modern technology. The farm is situated on preserved land that is surrounded by thousands of acres of wild, conserved land (in part owned by The Nature Conservancy). Adjacent to the farm, as well as dirt-road-hiking distance and driving distance nearby are numerous marked hiking trails, including the Appalachian Trail and several offshoots. Also in the neighborhood are canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, off-road, dirt-road and country-road biking, snowshoeing, cc skiing and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. As an alternative cultural mecca there are numerous other entertainment opportunities from fine dining to yoga, art and music. It's still amazingly quiet and the milky way is clearly viewed.

Add a couple of weekdays at a discount.

There’s a wonderful hiking trail that starts at a trailhead ½ mile north of here on our road, Barnum Street: The Nature Conservancy Rodger and Virginia Drury Trail. The trail starts at the road, goes through the woods, then intersects a corner of our farm field (where you can jump on or off from the farm/your campsite) and goes down to Schneob Brook. Rodger and Virginia Drury were the farmers on this land 1945-1985.

This farm was more than we could have asked for. The pond site was secluded and filled with sounds of nature. The stars were incredible as well. Dominic was helpful and kind. So many cute animals as well!

This was our first trip using Hipcamp, so we didn't really know what to expect. However, Dominic is a wonderful host, and made out trip truly memorable. We stayed at the FieldEdge campsite, which is a bit of a walk in. Dominic provides a wheelbarrow to carry all of your stuff, and we were able to fill our water cooler from his garden hose. The campsite was amazing! Although the hike in (and parking down the road from the farm) may seem like negatives, they have the effect of ensuring a quiet, secluded feel to the campsite, which is precisely what we wanted. Be sure to sample some of Dominic's farm products, such as the farm fresh yogurt, granola, and grass fed beef. All in all it was a wonderful place to camp, and we look forward to returning.

The host did not make it clear what to do with trash! He also was not there when we arrived or left. The whole experience was kind of confusing.

Our site was a beautiful location at the edge of a field, under an overhanging red oak. This is a working farm, and we were happy with the greeting from the pigs each time we walked past. Dominic is a friendly and casual host. We will definitely go back! A couple of things to know before you go. The portojohn is about a quarter mile from the site. And potable water comes from a hose at the main house. If you like quiet, unspoiled nature, this is the place for you.

Our site at the edge of the field. The field, with Queen Anne's Lace and fireflies. SpringForest, FieldEdge or PondSideDusk.

The campsite was exactly as described, and Dom was extremely accommodating and friendly. The site is beautiful, private, and near some very nice nature trails. You can buy firewood or a grill. Couldn't have asked for a better campsite and host!

Went for my birthday for two nights, loved the privacy and seclusion to watch the stars without anyone around. Definitely happy with the site! Highly recommend Bishbash falls and Guilder Pond when you are in the area.
