Description

Moose enthusiasts, come hither—Clarksburg State Park is just the place to spot a real life Bullwinkle! Take a break from wildlife scoutin' and plan to check out 9.5 miles of trails throughout this park offering the best northeast alpine views in the state. A favorite, the Shoreline Trail, lends to the best views of the Mauserts Pond. The campsites are blanketed by the shady pine and are spacious. Try to nab a site by the pond if you want to wake up to a wondrous view. As pretty as the pond is to look at, swimming is not permitted. Be sure to bring a watercraft should you want to get your pond hang on!

We camped here last year & stayed a couple of days to explore the Berkshires. This state park is very close to North Adams & Mount Greylock. Also the Vermont state line. The campsites ate spacious & not too close to each other. The bathhouse looks like it was recently built. The best sites are 2, 4, & 6. We stayed at site 30, which faced the woods. There's a swampy area behind that, so the mosquitoes are pretty bad. We had some cute little newts in the mornings at our site.
There's a couple of nice hikes. The signage is helpful. We ended up making a loop trail out of 3 of them.
There's a public beach that didn't see any use while we were there (in Aug!).
We liked this state park a lot!
