Sleepy Hollow Campground is a family campground. As we continue to renovate in phases, tent sites are in designated open areas and campers may select their favorite spot. First come, first serve. There are also some fire pits in the open areas and free firewood while supplies last.

This is a cute, cozy campground and very quiet. The bathrooms are very clean and there is running water and soap. The tent areas are pretty small and not super well established and the picnic tables are unstable. There are quite a few RVs, some of which seem permanent and a few of which look possibly abandoned, so there's a bit of a vibe. I wouldn't feel comfortable camping there alone, but if you're in a group and there are other campers, it's nice. I didn't meet the host in person but she was very friendly and accommodating via text. There's also free firewood. Good campground overall, just depends on your comfort level (especially since there's no cell service for probably most people).

Very rustic campsite. Tent sites were open camping and there was plenty of space. Bathrooms were clean and well-lit. There’s no staff on-site, so it’s a “help yourself” kind of place. Perfect for what I was looking for.

Great peaceful place to stay. Everything is close by, from the Savage River reservoir to Deep Creek Lake. Trout fishing at its best in the rivers nearby. Been coming up here since 1983. Great owners too...can't say enough.

It was a great stay and close to New Germany State Park! We tent camped in the designated area and had way more privacy than if we would have camped in the state campgrounds. Bathrooms were still being renovated and plumbing seemed a little off- but it was great to have a shower and a toilet while sleeping in the outdoors.

Thank you so much for your positive review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay. I'm happy to hear the bathhouse didn't have any problems.... but we'll look into the pluming to be sure there aren't any issues that are lingering from the bathhouse remodel. Hope you can come visit again soon!

I appreciate how this campsite had nice bathrooms (clean, somewhat cozy), free firewood (that burned extra well!), and areas marked clearly for tent camping, which is what we did. We talked to another guy at the site who said that this place used to be booming, and I can see how (accessible, good amenities, state park very close by). One thing I disliked, however, was the lack of any service or wifi: I could not send a text. Also, with the renovations (gravel and bricks everywhere), it was somewhat difficult to walk up to the bathrooms, especially at night without a flashlight. But all in all, it was a decent campsite, and I’m looking forward to seeing it improve in time.

Thank you for staying with us and for your feedback. In years past, the campground was very popular, but over time it wasn't modernized, which is what we've been focused on the last year (new bathhouse plumbing, upgraded underground electric service and better designated RV sites). We will work in the coming weeks/months to designate better paths throughout the campground and had already been considering adding some additional path lighting. As for cell service, the mountains of Western Maryland sometimes hinders service, with some carriers having better service than others. While no cell service can sometimes be a hinderance, hope you could also enjoy being unplugged in the mountains. Thanks again for your feedback, we'll take all of it into consideration as we continue upgrades. Hope you can stay with us again on a future trip.
