We had a wonderful 8 days at this camp. Using it as a home base we explored so much of Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and a bit of Virginia. Hiking, bird watching and learning lots of history in this area. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises, evening star gazing, fires in the fire put and the outside shower made this location even more enjoyable.
Hipcamp 1st timer!
David was a wonderful host. He was there when we pulled in and directed us to our spot. The wind storm, 2 days prior, had done some damage to the outdoor shower so he showed us the one inside that we could use. Outdoor bathroom facility is a porta pot :) The camping site was great, very private, you look out into a corn field. Private fire pit for the campsite and a community one closer to the house. The bugs in the field were really bad, but thats the time of year and in the morning the Maryland flies were awful. Overall it was a great experience for our first camping trip in our VW Westfalia! Thanks for a great experience.
Soybeans and corn
Convenient and peaceful. Except for the lawnmower that showed up to mow the area at 10 AM, and the party that was going on at the hosts house that night, everything was lovely. The RV site is very conveniently placed. We were not able to use the solar shower, but we had a lovely fire in the fire pit and had a very peaceful evening.
This is a beautiful spot to camp. and very quiet
We had hook-ups for our trailer and the location is close to town but far enough to feel you are country camping. David is a wonderful host and we hope to be back next year!
Beautiful rural maryland countrysid
The location was quiet and relatively secluded. We were able to setup our camper next to the garage away from the house for more privacy. Over several days there, we realized rooms in the house are rented out as well and there's a steady stream of guests. A couple were friendly and none ever bothered us.
There is a three prong 50 amp, two 30 amp, and 15 amp hookups. Water is also available.
The solar shower works but it's solar so don't expect much. We packed our own solar shower to supplement. The outdoor shower wasn't bad but could use something to hold the curtain in place.
We used the small bricked lined fire pit in the field. There's another behind the house that's much nicer. We weren't sure if that was for campers but we didn't need it either way.
I'm not sure if this was just a June in Maryland thing but the house flies were the worst we've experienced. Ever. So be prepared.
The host, David, was very accommodating and friendly. I can't recommend staying here enough. If we're ever back in the area, this will be a top choice.
I loved my stay at A and D's dream! The host was exceptionally accomodating and went out of his way to make sure i had everything i needed. There was plenty of room and nice level parking. Water and electric were a great bonus,! Highly recommend!
Relaxing camping stop!
Beautiful property! There are some really amazing birds in this area and falling asleep each night to them singing is a real treat. Lots of really nice farms stands around the area and David has great recommendations. Also, there were pretty much no mosquitos to speak of which was a real surprise!
Perfect car camping spot
A+D was an awesome little spot. 5
friends and I saw an awesome sunset and had a fire going for hours below a starry sky. There was a picnic bench which was really useful for cooking dinner, and we had a poi dancing party late into the night in the field. Perfect spot to play lawn games. Wood needs to be purchased, but it was n easy 5 minute drive to pick up bundles. Would recommend!
