The cutest and quietest stay! Located in a thriving part of Maine to stay. Our rural neighborhood makes it both a fun place to camp, and a unique treasure with a sense of security, and privacy. The Whale Shack is extremely easy to find and even easier to access. The neighborhood has quarrys to explore, trails to hike, and a beautiful swimhole with the jumps to match. I allow up to 4 people, although the cabin really fits 2 people but has room to pitch a tent for the rest of your party. I don't mind if all of you try your luck in the cabin though. You are not far from Frenchman Bay and Mount Desert Island, home to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor which is only a 30-40minute drive. The area is rich with tons of fun, we really hope you enjoy your stay. (Porta potty is seasonal)

Clean and comfortable!

This has been my favorite hip camp spot so far! The shack was clean, comfortable, had air flow, ELECTRICITY! and even a couple games in the dresser. The running water was much appreciated, as well as the clean port-a-potty. We had decent privacy too. The only downsides I can think of are the spot was a little smaller and closer to the road than I expected, and the dogs do start barking very early. That wasn’t much of a problem for us since we left early everyday :) Thank you so much!!!

Quick and easy stop for staying in the Acadia area! We luckily found a quick spot to stay that was decently priced and close to the park. Super easy to find, easy parking, fairly comfy bed & everything was clean. Would definitely recommend it!

We knew this would be super basic accommodation, as it was advertised as such. However, a few essential touches, like a proper curtain on the window and door would improve the place a lot. Unfortunately, the bedding was covered in what I assume were dog hairs and just didn't feel clean. We booked for 2 nights but ended up staying just for 1.

It's a great location if your wanting to visit Acadia or need a getaway to recharge. We have stayed 2x and will continue to return because we love being close to emenities but far enough to feel out of the way and because Ron is such a nice guy!!!
