Beautiful River View
Great little spot to spend the evening. I would recommend having a 4WD vehicle to get up a long winding gravel road to the property. Once you're there, you have to try the tree swings on the property - super fun! Was really windy the night we went, not sure if that's common, but might be worthwhile to plan for more wind than normal while camping due to its positioning on a hill in relation to the river.

Hard to Beat that View!!
River's Ridge is a great name for the incredible views of the Columbia River Gorge. The drive up above the river is a gravel road full of steep switchbacks, so be sure to stay in touch with Robert about conditions if you plan to go in winter. But once you're up there, it's absolutely worth it. there are a couple of spots for a tent (we stayed in a campervan), picnic tables, and hanging swings to appreciate the Columbia River. Very cool property that I would definitely stay at in the future and for longer -- one day wasn't enough!!

Absolutely spectacular view of Columbia River Gorge! Could benefit from wood chips at the camping site to keep down the dirt/dust. Definitely requires leveling blocks for camper vans.

You can't beat the views
This is a rare find with beautiful views of the gorge and Mt Hood, with only a private single camping site, all while only about 15 minutes from Hood River.
There is access to a real bathroom as well as potable water. Robert is a great host and I would highly recommend checking out this location if you get the chance.

Absolutely stunning views and fun being up so high up. A beautiful drive in and it was easy to back our Sportsmobile camper van into the spot. Robert was super kind and easy to communicate with. Cute little tree house down a little path to have a drink and enjoy the solitude.

Camping with a view
This was such a wonderful property with stunning Hood River views and Mt Hood in the backdrop. Hosts were lovely and very accommodating for our group of 10. Plenty of space for tents/cars, and an endless number of activities in the area. Would highly recommend to anyone!

A Rejuvenation of the Soul
I don't have many words to describe my reprieve on this beautiful santuary Robert is curating. In fact, here are three phrases to describe my stay:
1. Awe inspiring
2. Soul capturing
3. Rejuvenating
Thank you for sharing your bit of Earth with others Robert. I hope others will respect the land, as it's truly sacred ground. As I walk barefoot I felt the energy of the tribes that once called the land home. I hope to visit again. If I can give any advice to those considering a stay, plan to spend at least one full day on the property, because you'll regret it if you're just needing a place to rest your head. Once you arrive you'll know why I say this. Had I known the true essence of Robert's property, I would have planned ahead to ensure one full day where I did not leave the property. Alas, I had plans to site see which was very enjoyable but I sure did regret not being able to spend more meditative time at camp...

Amazing! Sunsets, birds and privacy
We had the most remarkable time at Robert's place. In fact, it is the happiest I have seen my husband in ages. We loved the quiet, the breathtaking views, and the many surprises (I won't ruin them!!!) to explore on the property. We were there for two night and though we expected to explore the area around his place, we enjoyed the site so much that we hardly left at all. We had a fabulous time watching sunsets, resting, reading, walking and birdwatching. We identified over a dozen different birds, some we rarely see.
This was a unique, private, beautiful and restful experience. We are so excited to go back. Definitely one of our favorite places we've ever been.

Unbelievable view
We were gobsmacked by the soaring view. Also, in the woods surrounding the campsite, we saw a deer, a groundhog, a hawk, and a wild turkey. We went into Hood River and explored the shops and cafes. Lovely camping spot, lovely weekend excursion from Portland.

If you are thinking about booking Robert’s place do not hesitate!! Breathtaking views and everything you could need in a campsite! We stayed in our campervan and loved that were able to use his utilities. We were able to explore some of the land around us and even spotted some wildlife!

We had such a nice and relaxing time here! The view was spectacular. We were self contained in a camper van so we didn't' take advantage of all the features, but did use the conveniently located water to refill our tank. The hammock was great to relax and read in. The host was very nice and even gave us some delicious fresh baked cookies.
