Carol's property is gorgeous. Our camp (#3) next to the river was calm and comfortable. The portable toilets were kept very clean. The sites are quite large, so you're not very close to other campers. That said, there is not a ton of privacy, at least at site #3, as the campground is fairly open. We had some difficulty finding the turnoff from the highway, but Carol was quick to answer our phone call and very patient and helpful. Better signage and driving directions could help make this experience even better.

Beautiful corner by the river!

Site #4 is great! It’s a little secluded portion in the corner and it is really nice to hear the river while you sleep. Definitely will be back. Carol was also super nice and came to check on everyone who were spending multiple nights in the morning. Cash only for wood but there is wood and a fire pit per spot. $5 for a pack of wood with kindling. I told Carol about the online hipcamp way to sell wood so that might be added. Overall great experience!

The small A-frame on the property was perfect! My dog and I stayed warm and cozy on our double-sized air mattress, and still had plenty of extra room to move around. The property is beautiful! We walked along the trails and waded in the clear, cool water. We will definitely return.

Amazing spot right by the river. There were other nearby camping spots, but it was spacious and felt relatively private still. The owner, Carol walked through and said hi to everyone and checked in with us which I thought was so sweet. I would totally stay here again. Great home base for checking out the Olympic National Park. Thank you Carol!!

Awesome little spot along the Lyre River. Hosts Carol and Larry are very nice people to talk to and are great hosts. Stayed in the A frame so it was nice not dealing with at tent, you can fit a queen size air mattress inside. Perfect spot for overnighting as well. Great location for accessing nearby hikes and beaches. I would stay here again and would recommend to others.

Overall, the campsite is the so relaxing and well thought out. Falling asleep to the sound of the river led to the best night sleep. Site #1 was the only site that didn’t have natural barriers though so we ended up maneuvering our car to try to have privacy from the other campgrounds. One other thing is that there is a lot of poison area in the woods but they did a good job keeping the grass cut and low. Just a heads up if you’re allergic to poison ivy like I am.

Beautiful, peaceful campground! Site #5 was great but site #4 and site #1 you can see the river while you sip your coffee from your campsite. #4 is probably the best spot in the place if you ask me because it's private and off to the corner but still next to the river.

The camp owners were lovely people. The river was beautiful. Just across the river the forest rose majestically from the bank. It was wonderful watchng birds catching silver minnows in the river. We had the camp site all to ourselves which was wonderful. If all the sites were full, I imagine it would not feel very private.

Our family had the most incredible stay at this campsite! Nestled right next to a beautiful river, the location is absolutely stunning—perfect for those who love being close to nature. The sound of the flowing water is so soothing, and the views are breathtaking. But what truly made this experience special were the hosts. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and comfortable. They provided us with all the essentials, shared local tips, and even made sure we had everything we needed for a cozy night. It felt like staying with friends who genuinely cared about making our stay unforgettable. The site itself is clean, well-maintained, and very spacious. The bathrooms were the cleanest we have seen. There’s plenty of room for tents, and they’ve thoughtfully added some shaded areas which made our stay even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with amazing hosts and the beauty of nature all around, this is the place to be. We will continue to return year after year!

We originally booked site 1 but the host let us know that site 2 was available as well and we could set up camp at 2 if we wanted. We ended up setting up at 2 but site 1 is literally next to it. We only stay 1 night here and really wished we had stayed longer! The river is right next to the camp sites and the sound of the river was very soothing to sleep to. Take a dip in the river, it's very refreshing and the water is so clear and clean! Camp was a short drive to Devil's Punchbowl. The host was very generous and let us borrow some oyster shuckers for oysters we had picked up along the way. Thank you so much!

What a beautiful experience! The property and river are absolutely gorgeous. We had a few families out this weekend to camp and adults and kids alike made so many memories! This was a really peaceful & beautiful spot to camp. Carol was a lovely & thoughtful host who had a warmth & welcoming that went above & beyond & made the stay more personal & inviting. I highly recommend this magical, fairytale spot. Camp sites are fairly close together as stated, so just be prepared if privacy is important for your comfort, I was fortunate to have only one quiet neighbor camping nearby. My dog Lola & I will be back, this is such a convenient place to camp on the peninsula & so relaxing after a day of adventures, thank you Carol!

✨ Perfect Riverside Getaway

Carol and her husband were exceptional hosts, kind, attentive, and incredibly helpful with everything. They went above and beyond by providing a spacious canopy along with a large wooden picnic table and plenty of seating, enough to accommodate all 16 members of our group comfortably. The campsite is perfectly located right next to the river, where we enjoyed the soothing sound of flowing water all day long. There were plenty of outdoor activities, including cornhole and baseball, which kept everyone entertained. Our children absolutely loved spending four screen-free days there. We will definitely be coming back next summer! Thank you so much, Carol and her kind husband.

Our group of large families with children thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we had a wonderful time. Carol was very friendly and generously provided us with a spacious kitchen tent. We had a fantastic experience and will certainly be returning next summer. We highly recommend it!

Site 2 is absolutely beautiful- right on the river. We use Hipcamp as a way to get away from lots of people and state parks. Unfortunately there was a family reunion going on during our stay and they had booked sites 1-4 and took up the entire common area with volleyball and all of their things all over the communal picnic table under the awning- allowing us zero access to this. They had multiple screaming kids and it did not make for a very relaxing stay because the campsites are so close together. Site 1 is maybe 20 feet from site 2. The river is absolutely gorgeous and very peaceful, but we ended up leaving a day early due to the noise and lack of peaceful atmosphere. If you’re looking for a quiet romantic getaway, this isn’t it. If you’re simply looking for a place to camp and do day trips out of, this was a great location. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are ok being surrounded by lots of people & potentially hearing screaming kids all day and evening.

Gorgeous spot on the river. On clear nights, the stars are incredible. Crescent Lake and Salt Creek both close drives. Highly recommend.
