If you love privacy, nature, wildlife, and fresh air, you will love Deer Park Mountain View RV Campsite. Our property is 17 acres of mostly unimproved land. There are open meadows, forested areas, and a trail that circles the property. Find the beginning of the wood-chip trail near the campsite and follow it through the trees. The trail comes out near the house. Enjoy the view and take care near the cliff. The campsite is in a small open meadow surrounded by trees on three sides and with a view to the south toward the Olympic mountains. We have only one campsite. You will be very private with no other campers nearby. Electrical, water, and sewer hookups are provided. NOTE: There are no bathroom facilities for tent campers. SEWER HOOKUP NOTE: Sewer hookup is on the driver's side of the vehicle if you pull in forward. If you pull all the way forwards the sewer hookup will be 24' behind the front tire. There is no turnaround and you cannot drive off the front of the pad. The hookup is raised about 2 feet off the ground to enable gravity feed. It may not work to back in and run the sewer hose on the ground to our connection. Please contact us if you have any questions. ELECTRICAL HOOKUP NOTE: Our hookup is 50 amps. Please let us know if you need a 30 amp adapter. NOTE: We live near a greenspace wildlife corridor and you may see wild animals on our property. It is advisable not to interact with any wild animals. There are many outdoor activities in the Olympic National Park, including hiking, camping, climbing, swimming, ocean beaches, etc. Olympic Peninsula Motorcycle Club 1/2 mile. Olympic Discovery Trail for walking and biking 1.6 mi. Shopping in Port Angeles 6 minutes. Hurricane Ridge 45 min. Lake Crescent 45 min. Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort 1 hr. Ocean beaches 1.5 hrs. Hoh Rain Forest 2 hrs. The closest entrance to Olympic National Park is 9 miles up Deer Park Road (narrow one-lane gravel road, no trailers or RVs allowed) with no facilities and a 360 degree view into the Olympics and north to Vancouver Island from the top of Blue Mountain. *Open June until first snowfall.*The parking site is a 40' x 20' level gravel pad with water, electricity, and sewer hookups, located in a pleasant private meadow. We are 3.3 miles from shopping in Port Angeles, 25 miles from the top of Hurricane Ridge, 24 miles to Lake Crescent, 74 miles to the ocean beaches, and 76 miles to the Hoh Rain Forest.

Beautiful spot. Easy access from 101. Easy to park my trailer. The only thing is the hook ups on the drivers side. Lucky my hose just reached. But the site is great. Nice walking area. Maybe a little close to the road but not that much traffic. I would return.

Easy spot to charge up the van for a night. I thought it was going to be a little different judging by the photos. It's pretty much right on the main road and directly across from a house with the main house in line of sight. It's also right next to a large chicken coop. As soon as I arrived, the property owner came right onto the site. This was alarming to my dog so I put up my window screen to settle her down. Aside from some road noise and the 5 AM rooster wakeup calls, it was just fine for a night. I appreciated the fresh water and electric hookup.

Nice, level, quiet, private site with full hook-ups. The host emailed very detailed directions to the site, and invited us to take a walk on her property, which was lovely. The adorable chickens were a plus. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Charming chickens

This is a quiet, private RV spot. It had nice shade and lots of grass for the dog. We were worried about the rooster, but he actually wasn't obnoxious. The hookups are on the wrong side so that's a little awkward but plenty of space on the level pad to make it work. A nice table and comfortable patio chairs were a luxury. They even provided a small charcoal grill.

We had a fantastic stay at this peaceful Port Angeles property. The automatic check-in process was seamless, allowing us to pull right in and get settled without any hassle. Site & Accessibility (5/5): The property was easy to get to off Deer Park Road and easy to navigate. The site features 50-amp electrical service and a water hookup, which made our stay comfortable. Though we did not need to use it, having a full sewage hookup available on-site is a plus. Location & Atmosphere (4/5): Tucked away in a small, rural neighborhood with just a few other homes, the site is beautiful, quiet, and private. The property offers clear views of the Olympic Mountains. Amenities & Activities (4/5): The campsite features a clear walking path that is perfect for a morning stretch or a quiet stroll to take in the mountain environment. Overall Experience (4/5): It was an easy stop that met all our expectations based on what we had read about the spot before we booked it. We liked having the full hookups and the ease of access. It is a good base place to explore the area.

Quiet, convenient, and peaceful

This Deer Park Hip Camp site was very nice. It was private and peaceful, surrounded by nature. We saw lots of deer, which was lovely. We did not use the electrical or water plug-ins, but appreciated that they were there if we needed them. We did use the sewer hookup before we left which was very convenient. We appreciated the instructions on how to align it with our camper. Getting into the camping space was very easy. There were chickens in a coop nearby the site, but they were very quiet and slept in late, lol. I forgot they were there most of the time. Definitely will stay here again, and I recommend this Hipcamp to others!

Nicely situated Hipcamp in a convenient and pretty location. It has a chill atmosphere and is relatively private. It’s fairly close to Deer Park road so there is occasional road noise, but it didn’t affect my stay. Super good jump off location for all this area has to offer.

We wanted a convenient "base camp" for a couple of nights to explore the northern part of the Olympic National Park, and this location worked out really well. Great location for access to Hurricane Ridge and Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge. Easy access, and I was aware ahead of time what side the hookup was on, so it did not pose a problem. And three deer showed up on the second day, so we got to enjoy their company for 10 minutes, which was nice.

Deer Park Haven

As described and met our needs. We are close enough to many hiking trails - loved the backyard trail for a quick dog walk. The neighbors were quiet. Even the dogs mentioned in previous reviews were scarce - only saw one and it kept its distance. We did not get to meet Susan, but did meet many deer and the chickens. The only cons (and these are mentioned in the description) are the hook ups are on the oppsote side. A 25 ft water hose, 25 ft electric (50amp connection) and 30ft sewer connection worked. The sewer connection sits high making it difficult to manage easily. It may be more convenient to pay and use a station I.E. state park. Our stay was a short three days, it would not be an inconvenience to dump elsewhere. Actually would have been easier to do so. We would definitely stay here again. We had a lovely time. Thank you for sharing your beautiful space with us. We loved how close it was to town and Hurricane Ridge. The full hookups are great. If you are like us and Hipcamp because you have a reactive dog this may not be the best place for you. The owner lets their dogs run loose and they were on our site multiple times per day.

Susan's property was very nice and quiet. About 10 minutes out of town and a pretty level lot. Nice woodchip walking path to enjoy as well. I would definitely stay here again. Full hookups are awesome and loved the location for our weekend trip to the boat races.

Olympic visit

This was a great place to stay, close to everything in Port Angeles and to Olympic National Park (Hurricane Ridge side). It has a nice little trail on the property to walk your dogs. The hookups are on the wrong side for backing in, but we have a 28' rig so we were able to pull in, unhook and then still move the truck out. I will say the the sewer hookup is a real issue if you are thinking you will hookup to sewer and leave it. (The owner does explain this in the description). It won't work. When we got ready to empty our tanks we had to stand there and keep moving the hoses up and down so that the contents would empty since the sewer pipe is sticking up above the ground so far. Certainly not ideal, but it can be done. The chicken coup is right next to the spot, but no roosters so that wasn't an issue. We did see several deer which was nice. We would stay there again.

A Peaceful Retreat
