Welcome to our land, our little slice of heaven, and a place of peace. My kids and I, with the help of the Creator, built this property how it stands today. It started as a tiny house journey through The Garden of Emunah (faith) and has turned into a life-changing  adventure. We moved onto the property with nothing but a power pole and a goal to farm the way the Creator designed and instructed. Since then we have come a long way by building houses, fences, and creating a life beyond the norm. Come join us in our adventure, sit by the fire, meet our friendly livestock, and tell us your story. We look forward to sharing Shabbat or any of the Jewish Holidays with your family. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent in the cedar or under live oak in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Our remote farm is an hour from the nearest gas station or store down a 4.8 mile dirt road. If your car bottoms out on speed bumps, please DO NOT Book. The livestock is petting zoo friendly and have free range of the entire farm. Prepared to be visited by sheep, goats, cows, dogs, and chickens.

Remote, rough and rustic
The host was friendly and talkative, and gave us a couple of books to read. The goats and other farm animals that passed through our campsite were enjoyable to watch. However, the camping areas did not appear to have received maintenance in quite a while. The roads to the campsites were quite narrow from the cedars having grown into them, and tall grass surrounded and even had grown into some of the fire pits making it unsafe for a campfire. Every camp spot the host showed me other than the large group site was a tight fit. All sites were overgrown with grass from last summer. One spot could not even be reached without driving over a pile of brush and limbs. There were no tables or trash receptacles as advertised, nor were there actual walking trails, other than some cleared area along the perimeter fence. If you are looking for a rough and rustic place to camp, have a vehicle with plenty of ground clearance and do not mind squeezing between tree limbs that will rub down the sides of your vehicle then this place might be for you. It looks little like the pictures. If you have a larger RV type of vehicle then the private roads to the farm and certainly the road to the camping area through a couple of seasonal creek beds might not be for you. The large camping area is a good spot for star gazing and is quiet. Some tree trimming along the interior roads and weed eating around the designated fire pits would make this a much more enjoyable location.

Great stay
Took my college friends out to go camping at Shoshanna Shalom for our winter break and it was great. Highly recommend this location. Getting to stay in a sanctuary with cows, goats, and sheep was a great experience. Being able to buy firewood instead of needing to bring it was also great for us because we came during a chilly time of year. Hot in the day, cold at night. The only negative of the trip was that the last mile or so of the road is a bumpy drive especially at night or after rain. I’d recommend driving a bigger or taller car like an SUV or truck.

Adventurous last mile or so when getting in, but site is all you could wish for. Daniel's a gentleman and will let you come and meet the animals. My kids loved it. Be sure you have good tires.

This is the best campsite I've stayed at in years. Incredibly well kept. Daniel was a great host. Our site was tucked into the trees. Soft ground and isolated. We also got to feed the goats and cows. Great trip and would be happy to return. Be mindful though, the approach road is no joke. My CUV did fine. Would be almost impossible in a sedan.

Great rustic camp - Awesome Host!
Awesome rustic camping experience. Definitely a rough path to get to the farm, truck or at least cross over vehicle with higher clearance then the average sedan recommended. My wife and I loved it! Thank you Daniel!

Solid place
Private and isolated, only thing you'll hear is the animals singing all night. If your vehicle has decent ground clearance you’ll have no issue enjoying your time!

We stayed here on our way out to Garner State Park from Austin, and it made for a great, remote pit stop. Unfortunately we caught the ONE rainy day + night in all of November so we ended up camping in some epic mud, but we still managed to make a good night out of it. Daniel made us feel right at home.

The campsite was very pretty and well taken care of. The directions that are given are perfect. There are less animals than originally listed in other reviews. We loved feeding the sheep and zebu. We were greeted by the host's two sons and they were extremely helpful, sweet and welcoming!! They showed us around the property and took us to feed the sheep and Zebu. They also showed us to our campsite and brought us our firewood. I would have liked to have spoken more with the host himself. It did make me slightly uncomfortable the two children were alone, yes they were older children, but they let us in without fully knowing we definitely had a reservation. I just had a concern for their safety. We did enjoy our time and are appreciative of their hospitality

Great experience
Very kind host family on a beautiful piece of property in the hills. My daughter and I loved visiting/feeding the animals and exploring the area. Clear skies brought out the planets..what a night. We will definitely be back to Shalom. So peaceful. Thank you Daniel and Family. Teddy

Great place! Great family!
This place was exactly what I had hoped it would be! Very private and safe. The whole family was awesome and very welcoming. It was a bit of a rough and rocky ride out there, but so worth it. The only think I would change is to have the camp area mowed down a bit. We will definitely go back!

Great weekend
Daniel and his family were very welcoming to us when we visited Shoshanna Shalom. There was plenty of space for us to spread out and stay distanced, and they provided not just great fire pits and rings, but precut wood as well (for a small fee). The skies were very dark, allowing beautiful views of the stars at night, and the kids brought around their zebu and some sheep one morning.

My 4 year old daughter and I had a wonderful time staying here. Daniel and his family were very kind and even took the time to bring animals by to see my daughter. It was very nice and quiet and the stars were amazing from the site. It is a little rough on roads to get there, so please heed the host's warning about not attempting to bring low profile cars to the site. Wonderful experience overall

Beautiful Stars
The site at Shoshanna Shalom was nice. We had a lot of space to ourselves and enjoyed the sounds of nature and the amazing starry night sky. The only issue was that the road to get there was pretty rough. It was a challenge for our car.

Stay
We had a lovely stay here at the farm/cedar forest! We came in late at night and were greeted by Ezekiel, who helped us find a gorgeous, private spot to camp. We were surrounded by cedar forests (smells so good!) and had our own camp fire setup, which they provided. They had adorable animals, including a tiny little cow that we took for a walk on the gorgeous property!

Our host Daniel was so wonderful! He drove five miles out to meet us and help guide us in to their remote farm and gave us a wonderful tour of his property. We even got the opportunity to hand feed and hug his sweet friendly cows. The farm is a work in progress, and it's incredible how much they've accomplished since moving there. The sites are very rustic, and give wonderful privacy. We enjoyed our primitive stay out on a gorgeous area far away from the city.
