In 1984, my grandparents bought 35 acres in Spicewood, TX with the goal of building their very own home. Together, they built an authentic log cabin, complete with weathered wood and mud-packed walls. My grandfather has resided here since then, until his passing last year. Before he passed, he spent many weekends holding gatherings with friends, hosting shows for local Austin musicians, and providing family with an escape from bustling cities. He thoroughly enjoyed sharing his piece of the countryside with those he held dear. Now, in hopes of keeping my late grandfather's memory alive, we are inviting campers to come enjoy the land he had loved for so many years. We are not a business or rental company, we are a family. The property is owned and maintained by my grandmother, my mother, and myself (his granddaughter). All profits derived from Hipcamp go back into supporting the property so that we can keep it in the family for years to come. By staying with us, you are directly supporting our family, for which we are endlessly grateful. Amenities shared between the sites include a private toilet, potable well water, a large picnic area, wifi (only near the trailer), an electrical outlet that can support 2 plugs, 2 contained fire pits, and 1 chimnea. Please do not hesitate to contact us for special requests, questions, or concerns.

Place was amazing. Shelby, the property manager was very attentive. Beautiful place to camp for a few nights in the Texas hill country. Will definitely book again!

It was a great place to stop for the night! Directions were clear and the property was very nice. If we are in the area again, we would definitely camp there again.

Great site. Camped near the log cabin and ran an extension cord for power. Nice bathroom and property. Will definitely camp here again. Definitely need to bring a hammer for stakes.

Birds songs are pleasant
The property manager showed me a nice secluded spot to pitch a tent. The area was relatively quiet. Watching tiny birds on a willow tree was special.

First camping trip with baby
Though we have been Hipcamp hosts for nearly five years, this was our first time use Hipcamp as campers! And I believe we were also some of Shelby's first guests, what a coincidence! There are plenty of little spots for dispersed, primitive camping, thus lots of space to not have to be near other campers. There is a large, flat open space after you come in the gate around the old mobile home and cabin which is where we camped. But if you keep going along the road, you go up a hill to areas that would feel more remote and have a better view. For us, we needed an easy spot to set up and camp for the first time with our seven month old baby and it served that purpose well! We were pretty near to the restroom and water tap, which was handy. A warning for tent campers that the ground was pretty hard and putting in tent stakes was fairly difficult. Have a mallet or hammer with if you're pitching a tent. All in all, a very positive camping experience!
