At the Confluence of the Mighty Llano River and the Majestic James River lies something completely unexpected - an undiscovered gem in the Texas hill country. The Dos Rios. We have over 19.3 acres of hill country beauty to explore. Take a casual dip in the mighty Llano River, or take the plunge off of 20-foot red rock cliffs into deep cool water. Kayak, canoe, swim, visit the Eckart Bat Cave, or take a scenic drive down the gorgeous James River Road (a winding gravel road that goes over several low water crossings on the crystal clear James River). Enjoy the island in front of the property, with its beaches and multiple access points to swimming holes. We also have camping, a tiny home and a fully renovated vintage airstream available (see other Hipcamp listings). We also rent kayaks and canoes! www.dosriosrvpark.com

Our stay at the Dos Rios Park was amazing! We spent the day down by the river, which was only a 2 minute walk from our tent! The area was clean and well maintained. It was pure bliss - a much needed weekend getaway.

Dos Rios Airstream
The Airstream was spacious and comfy for us and our two dogs. We also had plenty of space outside to let the dogs roam and I beautiful view of the Llano River below. I would definitely recommend people to stay here.

Peaceful. Remote. Will visit again!
We were tent camping with the family. There were 10 of us. We had site 1. It has a steep drop off on two sides, & very sloped on another. We got three large tents plus a screen room set up because it was a large site. The fire pit was very deep (3') so we had to do a lot of hunting for firewood, which they encourage. They even have firewood available @ the office on the honor system. Tammy came to our site & introduced herself. Wonderful person! Very hilly. One access to the river from camp because of the cliffs. Great place to primative tent camp. Far enough away from everything for peace, close enough to town if you need something the camp doesn't have. Sites are far enough away from each other that you feel you have privacy. Beautiful sunrises over the river!!! Great fishing! There were only a few minor drawbacks: 1) the bathhouse has VERY steep boulder steps for access & had only one indoor shower. If you have knee or foot issues, you will need to drive. Be conscientious of your time in the shower monopolizing the sink. 2) there are several feral cats living in the cliff on the river side of site 1. We have locking containers, so they didn't get anything. They are an annoyance if you bring your dogs. We didn't feed them or allow them access to any food. They have a healthy weight, so they're obviously getting food. But they walked on everything & tore up bags that had food scent. 3) string lights for pathways were inoperable.

We loved it here. The sites were a little close but it wasn’t bad. We camped in one of the further spots from the river but the walk was short and worth it. The river area was serene and in the mornings, it was calm and nice to just sit and take it in. It was cold when we went so we didn’t enjoy getting in the water but I’m definitely planning to return in the warmer seasons.

We had fun!
Loved being so close to the river! We hiked up and down dried up river beds and just explored the camp. Tammy is the best! We moved camp sites and she helped us move all of our gear. She’s a total gem! The ONLY issue I had at all was how close the camp sites were to each other, especially in the Ridge Loop. Don’t expect any seclusion.

Very nice setting with easy access to the water. The tents were mostly separated from the RVs and we didn’t hear any whirring noises at night. There was a barking dog most of the night during our stay.

Dos Rios campground was the perfect getaway for me, my son and my mom. The staff are extremely kind, attentive and helpful. Do be certain to confirm/ double-check all necessary arrangements prior to arrival, as phone and wifi connections are spotty at best. It is a great place to truly unplug and relax offline!

The sights and sounds of nature. i
Every evening, around 6pm, it's like the woods would come alive. It would go from a serene silence to a symphony of chirps and chimes. It was quite lovely. Also, about the same time, deer would parade down the path near our camp sight. Again, quite lovely. In the wee hours of the morning, we heard strange sounds in the distance and finally figured out that it was guinea fowl. And our early mornings, were greeted by the low mooing of cows. We are from the city and found the sights and sounds of nature to be relaxing and even comforting. We were primative camping at site #4 which was a little more secluded than the other tent sites and just a short walk from the bathhouse and the dumpster as well as the main office. Cell service was terrible but the point was to unplug and to enjoy nature. However, we were able to find wifi while sitting in the Lowe's grocery store parking lot, located a few mile from Dos Rios.

We mostly enjoyed this place. Upon arrival the host greeted us and she was very nice. She even told us if we didn't like the site we booked, we were free to drive around and check other empty sites and switch if we wanted. We had tent site 4 which is a great site. Kind of tucked among some trees so it felt like there was some privacy. The only issues I had were the broken handle on the men's shower. Meant cold was the only option. Then there were some campers on the cliff above the river who were the kind of people that believe everyone in the park is required to hear them. One guy was even talking on a megaphone while the others were screaming and playing some game up until almost midnight. This was my first time here so I don't know if this is typical but if there were quite hours they were either very liberal or not enforced.

Totally beautiful spot on the Llano River even if it was a bit low! My husband and I managed to score a very shady campsite, pitched the tent and had gorgeous summer evenings at the site. You're less than 10mins from Mason if you need to dash into town and get anything and cooking on the campfire was a DREEEAM. Many of the sites are already equipped with a hammock, picnic table and a couple of little chairs for your relaxing pleasure. You can tell they're steadily making improvements around the property and the glamping tents look awesome! The bathrooms are air conditioned which makes a big difference too in the heat. Really great stay and absolutely worth your money and Colin was so quick to reply to my queries. Thanks folks!

We love tent camping at Dos Rios
We love tent camping at Dos Rios! The camp is clean, the staff friendly, clean and well kept restrooms, the river is nice and cool with decent fishing too. The only downside are the gnats. They are an annoyance at dusk and dawn by the campsites. Down by the river, much less. At night, they vanish. We camped here previously and they were not as bad, maybe it is the September cooler weather bringing them in. No issues with mosquitos. There are some feral cats that wonder around. They won't get too close but will clean your plates and pans if you turn your back for too long. But one look and they run off. Not aggressive at all and they all looked healthy. Other campers had dogs which the cats all steered clear of. All things considered I would 100% camp here again! It is a beautiful, peaceful place to get away.

Nice little camping spot
This is a great little family spot. River was pretty low so it had plenty of shallow swimming areas to cool off. Beautiful scenery and a couple of bathrooms to clean up in afterwards. I’m excited to check out them out in the winter

Camping
Had a great time. We got in late around 5-6p after visiting The Caverns of Sonora. We did some primitive camping at one of the sites. The stay was nice and quiet. Restrooms and showers were available. The stars were easily visible at night. Right before leaving got a chance to swim in the river. I highly recommend choosing this place if you want to disconnect for a bit. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Thank you :)

Perfect Hill Country Getaway
Had a great experience at Dos Ríos! Camp sites were super nice and had good amenities like tables, firepits, and hammocks. Could hear others around us but felt secluded enough for my liking + enjoyed the scenery. Riverfront access was great and was able to escape the summer heat by chilling in the water! Overall super good spot and perfect weekend getaway!

Irresponsible dog owners!
I have stayed at Dos Rios tent camping sites twice and I will say that they have a clean and beautiful property with fantastic access to the Llano river. Tammy is friendly and helpful, and the kayak rentals make for a great day on the river. The problem with this campsite is the dog policy and total lack of control from irresponsible dog owners. Be prepared to have dogs charge up to you and your dog and to wander around the campsite at night. No one keeps their dogs on leash and this is dangerous to you, your family and the animal off leash itself. Not everyone loves your dog and wants them all over themselves. People take their dogs to the river and let them run amuck off leash and act like they own the property with little to no regard for how this impacts others. We also had a frightened dog wandering around the campsite at night who had freed itself from its tether. This dog was scared, barking loudly and growling at people with no owner to be found and no control over the animal whatsoever. At the end of the day dogs are animals and when frightened you cannot predict how they will react. If you want a place to camp where you can let your dog interrupt others, disrespect safety and boundaries then this is the place for you. If you are a responsible dog owner I would 100% not recommend visiting this location. Spend your days at a site where respect and responsibility is more encouraged as this is not it.

My husband, son & I have been coming here for years. First place we drove our camper van, means a lot to us. With that being said, they’ve added manyyyy new campsite (which is okay & I understand) but the bathroom situation is exactly THAT, a situation. You have to wait to use the bathroom cause someone is either taking a shower or going to the bathroom. It’s just not the ideal situation. Adding more bathrooms would make this place perfect!

Planning to return!
We had a great time! The tent sites were great, site 2 had wonderful views of the river but the trade off is little shade at this site. We camped with kids and they loved swimming in the river. Next time I plan to also rent a cabin just to have the best of both worlds. The manager is top notch, good communication before and during our stay.
