Replenished
Most campgounds at state parks were booked a week out from Easter weekend. We really wanted to go camping, but not travel too far from the Dallas area. My wife found Hipcamp and we saw a lovely place in the country past the city limit signs. We enjoyed the campfire, fishing and tossing the frisbee in the ooen space. The stars at night really are big and bright. We enjoyed Lanita's welcoming, friendly, and nurturing spirit. Afterward, we felt replnished refreshed, and renewed. Thank you!

Good Night Camping
Lanita was super responsive and was a great host. She greeted me on arrival and gave me the layout of the site, had hammocks set up and plenty of firewood available. I only stayed one night while passing through the area, but there were no issues whatsoever. The only con is that it's a little muddy, but it had just stormed and would have been muddy no matter what.

#1 The Hideout
Lanita's property is HUGE so it made us feel very much away from the city and secluded at our own campsite.
Highlight of our trip:
The night when we were there the sky was so clear so we set up a blanket at night on the big open field next to the village to star gaze. We saw many shooting stars and even got to see the milky way.
On the property there is a meditation garden, a village, trails, little swamp pond and another pond for fishing.
Friendly Notes:
Meditation Garden: Bring a mat to sit on if you are wanting to meditate there. I attempted in the morning but the morning dews made me change my mind.
The Village: For running water and to use the toilet you can walk to the village. In the village Latina also has rooms/another healing circles set up for classes she held. (Although we had the campsite closest to the village, we still preferred to use the wilderness as our toilet for convenience)
The Swamp: A nice wooded trail that you can walk to the swamp!
Pond: The pond near the village is where you can go fishing.

Just what we were looking for. Lanita went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We had a nice secluded camp site with access to trails and an open field.

Reconnection
The site really upheld my expectations and Lanita was such a wonderful and helpful host (since it’s was our first time camping). We felt safe and cared for. Her adorable dogs, her llama Louis were very friendly, and her sheep were very well taken care of. We saw and heard plenty of animals in their natural habitats at night.
.
She has beautiful meditation gardens that were soothing for our souls. She helped us reconnect with nature by appreciating the vast beauty found in it. I went with my 2 girls, my sister, my son with special needs, my chihuahua and my cat. She was very accommodating to our needs. I asked my son if he liked it and if he would like to come back and he said yes! And that meant a LOT to me. So I guess we’ll be back again very soon! Her unique crafts and talents were in her “Love Shack”., A meditative/yoga/music/dance/Ayurvedic room where you can find a variety of tinctures, balms, crystals, herbs among other things that are very useful and helpful with your healing/spiritual journey.
Especially for a worn out mama as me, needing the reconnection that somehow it got lost/forgotten while going back to school, working full time while raising my 5 kids path in a fast pace city life. Thankful for Lanita to provide this place as an opportunity for people like me wanting to reconnect our body, mind and soul! To embark our journey of self discovery and abundant experiences.

I enjoyed my stay at Blackland Ranch! Such a welcoming place. The only thing I wish I would’ve known is that you cannot drive up to your campsite. Which it may have been on the info listed, and I missed it. Overall I had a great stay!

This was a nice place specially for a one night stay. The campsite was secluded and had plenty of trees for shade. The fishing was great, specially for kids. They were catching fish non stop. You cannot drive your vehicles to the camp sites as the trails a little tight. The hosts uses a UTV and trailer to drop your equipment off at the campsite. It is not that far of a walk from parking to the sites.

Great Camping near Dallas
Blackland Ranch is awesome for primitive camping! Our hosts were great and very informative. It is impotant to know that there is a different area for parking. The hosts will give you a ride to camp on UTVs. The fishing was great. Beautiful landscape, hiking trails, and a Lama to boot! 10/10 Will return.

Can’t wait to come back!
WONDERFUL! As a person with not a ton of outdoor experience, this was the place I needed to go. I was guided around the land, given tips on wildlife and plants. Beautiful land, no light pollution so the stars really come out. Plenty to do on the land and it’s very well kept. They even had a ranch dog running around checking on us while we were out there and it was adorable. Will definitely be back here soon.
