Camping on the Plains at Mariposa
Overnight stay in Amarillo
We had a great stay at Camping on the Plains at Mariposa! It was a quick visit, but we did enjoy the amenities there. The kitchen & bathroom (with shower) were both a blessing to have available. We felt very safe on the property and enjoyed all the cool artwork & sculptures inside the camp!

Great resting spot
Lauren was excellent at communication with us, and we had no troubles finding Mariposa. We met Cole when we got there and he helped explain exactly where we could park our truck camper. We had just enough time to get in a walk down the road before it started getting dark. It is a little patch of wildness very close to the interstate, civilization, and a working cattle operation. We enjoyed our very short stay before getting on the road in the morning, Thank you! It looked like it could be wonderful for tent camping too.

Mariposa, charming and wild refuge
Totally cool and unique place! I had a brief stay passing thru Amarillo and wish I could've stayed longer.
The camping was easy to manage although I was a little jealous of the neat looking glamping sites.
The site has a great community center that serves as an easy kitchen and shower station, and the art work around the area tells me that fascinating things happen in the area.
Check this place out, it's a great spot, quiet and removed from city.

Great place to camp. Five minutes off the interstate, but feels safe and quiet. We had a beautiful sunset and the kitchen in the community center was a huge plus. Would definitely stay again.

Cheap spot, perfect for a quick rest before heading back on the road. Rec center is a bonus, don't expect it to be perfect as your getting extra than you pay for but it has a shower and kitchen which was awesome 👍

Ranch style in texas
She picked up the phone as we were on the road in texas, last minute site. She was vwry easy to talk to and had easy and good place to camp and shower. Also great views of the lighting way off in the distance with a good feal for nature. It was perfect.

Camping on tons of land!
This place was very interesting! It had some cool art and the community center had art everywhere! It was so nice to have access to the community center. It had a kitchen, bathroom and we got to camp right next to it so it was super convenient.
If you come in at night it is super confusing because it is DARK! So I recommend checking in before sunset so you can gather your bearings.
The host was SUPER communicative. I appreciated that since I needed to ask questions to put the gate code in and figuring out where to park in the dark, etc.
I highly recommend this place!

Boon docking & rooftop tent camping
The view of Amarillo and the plains of Texas from our site was so peaceful! The solitude was needed and it was delightful! This was our 2nd time staying here and we will def come back again!!!

Van camping
This was the perfect landing for me while I'm camping in my van passing through TX. Loved having a communal space to plug in my cooler and take a shower. Beautiful land. I felt very safe and comfortable.

Great place to stop by! The hosts were super accommodating and the property is beautiful. Very convenient bathroom/shower if you are traveling. Having access to a kitchen is also a great plus. Abigail responded immediately to any inquiries I had. Felt very safe here traveling as a single female. Totally recommend.

Lovely spot, right off of I-40 for a restful road trip camping night. We were so grateful to have access to the community center to cook some dinner and shower. Mariposa is a wonderful space, both for travelers and the local community. Thanks for having us!

It was a fun time, but we couldn't put stakes in the ground on the 1-4 sites which is not part of the camp. So, we slept on top the ten

Wow!!! Ten out of TEN! We lovesd this place and hope to return again!!! What a beautiful spread of land so thoughtfully set up to share with others! We enjoyed a big thunderstorm rolling in, and were wecomed at the gate by friendly Cole 😊 lots of great wind, then lots of rain! Afterwards the stars came out and put on quite the show!! Beautiful land, thank you for sharing!!
