LOVED IT!
We absolutely loved the cabin! What an experience to be in the middle of such a beautiful place. The sunrise and sunset were rich orange. The cabin is perfect and just adorable. Every little touch was great. We opened the windows a little and got a lively breeze all night. Comfy beds and a great shower! You will not be disappointed. The beauty of the place is overwhelmingly. Great experience.

1940s Tourist cabin
Such a gem of a place! Was just road-tripping and had a short 1 night stay but as a solo female traveler I felt safe here. The school house and camp store with homemade goods just made the place that much better. I would definitely stay here again!

What a fabulous little cabin. Loved that it had A/C. Got to tour the historical schoolhouse next door. I felt like I was on Little house on the Prairie!

Crystal’s land was exactly what we needed after a day of driving! Easy to get to and Crystal was really easy to community with the days leading up to our reservation. Highly recommend staying at Crystal’s land!

Nice, quick stay!
Had a quick stay here! My gps took me right there, but directions were sent just in case one’s navigation failed, which was nice. I slept on my car, but that had power hookups and a lot of space for those with RVs. Good stay and helped me out on my way to western SD. : )

We did a brief overnight on our way through to somewhere else, arriving late and leaving early. Crystal ensured she was waiting for us when we arrived and allowed us to crash out in her driveway rather than disturbing those who were camping. We appreciated the flexibility and accommodations. Would have loved to have been able to see the farm and setup. Perhaps next time…

A Diamond in the Rough
I highly recommend staying at the 1940s Tourist Cabin! Crystal was an excellent host and we really enjoyed the fun & informational tour. It’s great that her family is connected to such amazing history! Southern hospitality comes to mind when I think of Crystal. She make you feel like a welcome family member. She’s the distant family member you live to visit. The cabin was beyond expectations.

Wonderful Tourist Cabin Stay
It was wonderful. We had a great time. We found the place easy with the GPS directions. Once there we were given a tour of the schoolhouse and shanty by the owner Crystal. She gave us lots of history information of these buildings and the cattle that are raised on her ranch. She was very accommodating and told us we could call for anything we needed during our stay. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable night to include a much needed shower and a nice kitchette for morning coffee. We highly recommend this 1940's Tourist cabin for all that are traveling this way.

1940s Tourist cabin
We met Crystal off the highway and followed her to our destination. This little cabin is so cute. The cabin (which has history to it) has 2 bedrooms, with 2 comfortable beds. There is a small fold out chair that worked great for our 5 year old. She also had a cot, which would work out great for an adult or older child. The kitchen had a little fridge and stove and a sink and we cooked in it a few times. We were there when it was real cold out, and the heaters kept us warm. Crystal also gave us a tour of the old schoolhouse (right beside the cabin) and then the farms original shanty a little bit down the road beside their house. Wow!!! We all enjoyed the shanty. We are so grateful she gave us a tour. It was such a highlight of our stay. We stayed for 2 nights and got to see their cattle walk around near our cabin. Their house is not beside the cabin but this is a working ranch so you will see tractors come near the cabin, the animals around. We enjoyed it. The stars at night were amazing. Its close to kimball and not too far from chamberlain. This would make great for a quick overnight stop off the highway as well. We felt very safe here and the hosts are incredibly friendly. From the cabin you can see the highway and the train track but the highway noise is nothing to bother you and in our two days there never saw a train, though our children were hopeful to see one. We would highly recommend this gem and if we were ever in the area again wouldnt hestitate to stay again.
