Carol and Daryl were lovely hosts and our kids were so grateful to swim in the above ground pool complete with floaties for each of them. They also enjoyed tetherball and the basketball game. We were also grateful that they allowed us to set up our tent in a shady spot that was not officially a campsite, due to the extreme heat when we arrived. It was right next to a picnic table and they offered to bring a campfire pit over if we wanted as well. The camp kitchen was super useful, and we were able to put some of our food and ice packs into the fridge/freezer. Loved that they had a place to wash dishes and a bbq for our dinner. It’s a quirky spot, lots of friendly cats who wander around, and there are some exposed nails in the bathroom, but it served to be an economical stay for us on our trip across the country, and friendly for sure. The biggest thing I would need to mention was how loud the trains were late into the night. Had we been sleeping in a trailer or RV of some kind it might not have been a problem, but in a tent it was VERY loud. Considering we were there just to sleep and tried to get to bed early in order to hit the road early, it made for a pretty short sleep for us and our kiddos. Unfortunately there’s nothing ‘similar adventures’ can do about the train, but just wanted those reading reviews to know what to expect.

Just what we needed before B2S!

Anyone who knows me knows I’m more indoorsy than outdoorsy, but we brought our two kids and dog out to SA for the long weekend and had the best time! We pretty much had the place to ourselves. It was so quiet but there was still so much to do! Carol and Daryl have gone out of their way to make their home feel like yours! The pool was clean and a perfect temperature. We tried most of the wide variety of games and had lots of laughs. The quiet mornings and evenings listening to the crickets, frogs and birds could not be beat. There was nothing pretentious about this place, just good old fashioned family fun! Highly recommend and we will probably be back :D

We had doubts about the site as we drove in, but as we explored and as Darryl came to meet us, we settled right in and had a wonderful time. There were tons of activities, Darryl gave us everything we needed to make an amazing fire, and we made fast friends with the adorable kittens roaming the land. Would 100% recommend.

My partner and I loved staying here for the night, Had everything we needed, was a great set up 🥰 If you love cats that’s a big bonus they’ve got plenty but one stuck out to us her name was Callie and she was so so beautiful and friendly! We’ll definitely remember her! Carol is a wonderful host too she came out and had a chat and was very open and welcoming 🫶🏼

It was exactly what we needed after a long day of driving. Clean, quiet, well-laid out and lots of room to walk the dogs. Very friendly owners that just checked in once to make sure everything was good.

Lovely hosts. Family oriented and most definitely a spot to take your kids. They were very accommodating especially since we booked last minute due to truck problems. The other campers and locals gave me great advice on where to go for my truck and were very welcoming.

Similar Adventures was wonderful. Carol warmly welcomed us and made us feel at home. We came a little in the off season, so we were not able to experience the pool or activities on the land. However, they provided as much firewood as we required. We would recommend them to all our family and friend. Bonus points for the cute, friendly cats 😸

Taurus 5th wheel Camper

Only a 15 minute drive from Melville, this site had beautiful canola field views and with all the activities designed by the hosts, there was plenty to do for our night stay. You could sense the quirky sense of style around the campsite, especially in the home made mini golf course! The hosts were friendly and helpful and despite that they live on site, it felt very private and we were free to do as we pleased.

We loved tent camping at Carol's place. There were all the required amenities.She has taken care of everything for their guests which is very kind of her.Carol was also very helpful and humble. This was the best campsite we ever have been to. We would highly recommend her place and would love to come again. Thank you Carol.
