Quebec is a kind of promised land for campers, with vast swathes of parkland and sparsely inhabited wilderness—you won’t have trouble getting outside. North of Montreal and Quebec City, forested mountains and lake-dotted valleys dominate the landscape with endless hiking, fishing, and canoeing opportunities during reliably warm summers. To the east, the St. Lawrence River is one of Canada’s best whale-watching destinations.

Winter, though cold, proves no obstacle to the adventure-hungry. Our advice? Pack your thermals. That way, you can spend days ice climbing, snowshoeing, and skiing, and nights cozied up in a cabin, an insulated tent, a yurt, or even an igloo. As a general rule, the further north you go, the wilder the landscapes and fewer the facilities.

The rounded peaks of the Laurentians are the destination of choice from Montreal and Quebec City. Jacques-Cartier, Mont-Tremblant (both part of the provincial park system), and La Mauricie (part of the national park network) have four-season appeal. You can get in some rafting, kayaking, and hiking in summer, while in winter, heated cabins, huts, and yurts mean you can wake up, strap on your skis or snowshoes, and hit the trails with minimal fuss.

The St. Lawrence River meets the Atlantic at this cliff-edged peninsula—also known as Gaspésie—on Quebec’s east coast. Scan the shoreline for whales in Forillon National Park between May and October, or cat ski on virgin powder in the Chic-Choc Mountains in the icier months.

French for ‘North Shore,’ this section of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence is ripe for road-tripping. Coastal campsites at Tadoussac overlook Saguenay Fjord, a hangout for belugas, and further east, at Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve, you can set eyes on strange sea-carved rock formations and hide out on secluded offshore islands.

This farming region near the U.S. border gives off New England vibes—think covered bridges, clapboard towns, and flaming fall foliage. It’s also Quebec’s premier wine-growing region. Mont-Orford is popular for skiing or hiking, and the stargazing at Mont-Mégantic National Park is—excuse the pun—stellar.

Visitor footfall is low in Nunavik, home to the Inuit in the Arctic north. Little surprise why: There’s no road access. Nunavik Parks offers packages to the area’s four parks (Pingualuit, Kuururjuaq, Tursujuq, and Ulittaniujalik) including flights from Montreal, Inuit cultural experiences, and the chance to see the northern lights.

We can offer garbage removal (compost, recycling, and garbage) for your stay with us. We also welcome any pet travelling with you but please keep them on leash as we have two adorable cats we do not want to scare them. Il y a une douche chauffée à pleine pression, des toilettes à compost, un évier extérieur et une station de cuisson. Cabine Luciole is a heritage Sugar Maple Cabin built in the late 1800's. It is located in an mossy, old growth maple forest with towering majestic maple trees. It is built on a leyline by Irish (Erin) settlers, giving it powerful energy to rejuvinate. You can also walk the cretan labyrinth, to bring balance. catherdral tin roof cabin has enough space for dinning, entertaining and yoga, it also has a sleeping loft for 2 people, and can be used as a reading nook, bring your own sleeping bags, pillows, and towels and you are welcome to set up a tent on the outdoor camping site. There is a heated full pressure shower, compost toilet and an outdoor sink and cooking station. The site is booked for complete privacy, only one group booking at a time, so you have your own private spot in the woods. There is a fireplace in the cabin with plenty of wood. The floor is mostly nature stepping stones, hand picked from the woods. The cabin is nestled in a moss and fern magical woods with fireflies, owls, deer, and foxes. There are groomed peaceful walking trails. A sphere shaped cooking outdoor fireplace under firefly solar lights adds to the magical experience. There are wonderful activates such as fishing, kayaking (Safari Kayak) and bike trails in the local area. Go back in time and experience the rare wisdom of the sugar maple trees that are over 150 feet tall. You will never want to leave, come back and see the trees colourful splendor in the fall and in early spring we plan to have hands on maple syrup making.

Truly a tranquil experience!

Sebastien was more than helpful with ensuring I had everything I needed before and during my stay! He was even able to give me a river view for a few nights and ensured I had a pleasant time on his property. I had read past reviews talk about birding but was thrilled to hear and see birds I never knew existed (a veery and flickers). Have the merlin app to help you determine which bird youve got! I felt surrounded by nature and removed from our busy life but were only a minute drive from grocery and stores. Perfect place to camp! Thanks again

My friends and I really enjoyed staying at this campsite and loved the proximity to the river rapids and lake. Although the campsites are close to each other there is sufficient room for all your amenities. Drinkable Water was available at the reception and was a small walk from the site. The host was really nice and held good communication. 100% would recommend if you enjoy the sound of running water and very pretty views!

We had a fantastic time. Neal was friendly, personable and made us feel right at home. He has a nice piece of magic to share with the world. Lots of good energy. The waterfall was beautiful, the sauna was incredible. There is running water at the camp and the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely recommend and hope to go back one day.

We really enjoyed our stay at Jean-Luc and Celine’s land. They were very gracious hosts and gave us great information. We had our old, grumpy, unwell dog with us and they were great about letting him have a peaceful time with us. The area is full of fun things to do including hiking, biking, walking and kayaking. We are Louise Penny fans and we enjoyed visiting some sites from the books, with recommendations from our hosts. We will definitely be back as there is more we want to do!

J’ai réservé à Agape Gardens un peu au hasard, simplement attirée par leur magnifique yourte en forme de goutte… et ce séjour a dépassé tout ce que j’imaginais. Entre le sauna, le bain chaud au bois, le bain froid et le fameux massage Venik — que je recommande profondément — tout était magique. Un vrai moment de reconnexion et de douceur. Les hôtes sont d’une gentillesse rare. Jennie s’est même déplacée au village pour aller me chercher du pain sans gluten. Ces petites attentions rendent l’expérience encore plus spéciale. Jesse and Jeremy were very kind, communicated well and responded quickly. They offer so many more amenities than the typical Hipcamp site. We were in a Campervan spot. They have places for tents, yurts, RVs and even lodging in a cabin. It was a beautiful and peaceful setting gazing at Parc de la Gatineau. The have a bathroom and shower which were clean and wonderful. You can also relax inside or an outside screened in area. They offer breakfast food, massage, sauna and hot tub options. It’s truly a special and amazing place!! We would most definitely return if we were back in the area.

Weekend Trip to River Rest

My partner and I loved our stay at river rest. It was exactly as described and a beautiful spot. Mel communicated well and clearly as well as making sure we had everything we needed for a stay in a thunderstorm. They provided us with a propane stove knowing we had plans to campfire cook and a storm rolled in. Would recommend or stay again!

The fire helped after the rain we had on our way.

Weekend Trip to Meech Creek Falls

This is a pretty special place, just off one of the best rail trails anywhere. Very private, with only white noise from the falls to hear - I slept longer than I do at home! We arrived in pouring rain very glad we didn't have to pitch a tent ourselves, but instead could go warm up in the sauna. And important for June... It seemed like perfect conditions for blackflies and mosquitoes but there were hardly any, even at sunset. I guess being on the slope there's not really any standing water.
