Camp Ashland is over a mile high in elevation and can be your mountain retreat from the city, or a needed break with a hot shower, cold drinking water and clear mountain air. We invite you to begin a challenging series of mountain bike trails nearby on Mount Ashland, for a weekend getaway or family outing, and to explore the outdoors. Our camp is the closest private gateway to the 7530 ft peak of Mount Ashland in Southern Oregon! Camp Ashland is easily accessible near the Oregon / California border via Interstate 5, Exit 6, and is on the left side of the road, just past the 5 mile marker on Mount Ashland Ski Road. The camp entrance is 500 feet from the Pacific Crest Trail and a short 1/2 mile walk or drive by a private 2WD road to the campground. There are scenic views of magnificent Mount Shasta on a south facing slope in the Siskiyou Mountains, famous for some of the richest biodiversity around and home to several native plants that exist no where else in the world. We are happy to provide our guests with a Japanese style outdoor shower facing Pilot Rock, with eco-friendly tea-tree body wash and shampoo, fresh water at a community sink for washing and cooking, a portable toilet sanitized regularly, bear proof trash receptacles, and local hiking adventures throughout most of our 120 acres and beyond. A small year-round stream, pristine riparian environment, cold mountain water and a charming waterfall is waiting for you to discover at the end of the trail here at Camp Ashland.  We call the quaint water feature "da Vinci Falls", named after Leonardo da Vinci, who once said,    "When you put your hand in a flowing stream, you touch the last that has gone before and the first of what is still to come". There are actually about 3 miles of private roads for hiking and adventure but please stay on the existing roads if you are bike riding, to protect this magical place. The Klamath National Forest sits below and beside the property for unencumbered access to an additional 1.7 million acres of wilderness. You may see grouse, turkeys, quail, pheasant, deer, fox, bears, elk, squirrels, chipmunks, Martin's, porcupines and other flora and fauna unique to this area. Beautiful views of the Milky Way, and the stars at night without light or noise pollution. You may also enjoy nature walks, beautiful scenic vistas and hiking all within a short 15 minute drive to the city of Ashland, Oregon, for great restaurants, the Schneider Art Museum, art galleries, local shops, and a farmers market.  We will be pleased to have you join us and make your next memories at Camp Ashland soon!

Mount Ashland base camp deluxe
This is a totally great spot to make a base camp for mount Ashland adventures! The camp itself is well off the road (I.e., nice and quiet) and has great views of my Shasta and the valley to the south. The shower works great, and it makes for an excellent addition after a day of hiking or mountain biking or whatever! Accessible in a passenger car, but the road is a bit slow going to get in. Would definitely go back!

NEW! CAMP ASHLAND- Elevation 5,436'
Imagine you're on the PCT... hot, dirty, loving life but tired of squatting, tired of jumping in streams or heating up a bladder full and letting it try to dribble off soap while you freeze in the breeze. Now imagine arriving at a spot with a clean Port-a-Potty and a hot shower open only to the forest, the sky and Gaia: that's Camp Ashland. Its only five spots (for now) and my wife and I weren't hiking, we were in a little Four Wheel Camper but the site was still magical. It's small, the road in is rough (thank God) and it's remote but oh, so worth it. Great job whoever you are. You've given a gift to those of us who wander but are not lost.

Camping in the wild with hot shower
I believe that we were the first guests there, however, it felt like everything was in place and well set up. The place is totally out of the way with a 6 min drive down a dirt road. The hot shower and solar lights were a welcome addition and the host was beyond nice. Great place for anyone truly wanting to be doing wild camping. Loved it and hope to return soon.

Beautiful and peaceful
A beautiful and peaceful camping spot among the trees on Mt. Ashland. The amenities including shower, toilet, sink, and soft lights at night add convenience and comfort. We hiked down the road where there is a pure stream of water coming down the mountain (take a left at the fork, 10-12 min hike).
