Choose The Pinecone Bunkie as your off-grid escape to rest, reset, and reconnect with nature. Tucked on 40 forested acres, this cozy retreat invites you to slow down. Guests love the starry skies, quiet trails, and simple comforts—like the outdoor shower, fire pit, and lofted queen bed. Sip coffee on the porch, grill under the gazebo, or unwind by the fire. This is where the noise of everyday life fades away. Here’s what you’ll enjoy during your stay: • A peaceful bunkie tucked in 40 forested acres • Queen bed in a cozy loft (accessible by ladder) • Fire pit with wood, 2 grills, and a shaded gazebo • Simple kitchen setup with 2 person dining table, cooler, utensils, and BBQ • Shower with warm water, shared toilet & outdoor well water tap • Picnic table for outdoor dining • Dog-friendly space with lots of room to roam • Trails for exploring, star-gazing, and reconnecting WHAT WE PROVIDE • Bed linens and pillows • Basin for sponge/cloth baths • Toilet paper • Grill for BBQ (bring your own charcoal) • BBQ utensils • First aid kit WHAT TO BRING • Drinking water • Ice & food • Coal for grilling • Extra blankets • Bug spray, sunscreen, garbage bags Washroom & Shower: A shared washroom with warm/cold shower, toilet, and outdoor well-access tap is nearby and easy to access. Water & Electricity There is no drinking water on-site—please bring your own. Electricity is available in the bunkie (solar-powered). Wi-Fi & Cell Service: There is no Wi-Fi and very limited or no cell service. Plan to unplug and enjoy the quiet. Garbage: There are no large garbage bins and no road side pickup. Please be prepared to bring your garbage to the dump during your stay, or you need to bring it home with you to dispose of. If any garbage is left behind a $75 cleanup, transfer and dump fee will be charged. Temperature & Seasons: The bunkie is available year-round, however, it is not insulated. If you are coming in winter or intermit weather, we are assuming you "know what you're in for" and will pack and dress appropriately to be in the bush. In winter, the road may not be plowed and could require a short walk in. We had a great time at the pinecone bunkie. It matches exactly what we were looking for, disconnecting from routines in a calm environment still secure for our puppies. All basics were available to have a great time!

Very quiet and private. Nice accommodations. Helped us when we needed it. Had a bit of a hard time finding it. But it was past midnight. In the light I’m certain much easier.

Mother/Daughter Escape
Off-Grid Pinecone Bunkie
The bunkie was clean and organized with the bed being soft. We managed to keep most bugs out but the door is sticky with the humidity, so always make sure you give it a gentle bum check and double check to make sure it latches. Lots of mosquitoes so be sure to pack your bug spray and Thermacell. We have two units, so we were actually able to create a lovely mosquito reduced zone around our camp fire. Overall, it was very peaceful and a pleasant stay where we could leave the world and other people behind. Please remember to respect the property. If you bring it in, bring it out. This includes water bottles, beer caps and cigarette butts. I just picked up a cheap dollar store butt bucket to bring with me because it is easy enough to use and take back away. We are responsible to the nature we are inhabiting, not the other way around, so we need to be kind to it and considerate of those who will stay after us.

The bunkie was super cute. Nice futon and small sitting area as you pwalk in and a very comfortable bed up the ladder in the loft. The outhouse was clean and the washroom just a minute walk away had a nice clean shower with warm water after a long day.

Our stay at The Pinecone cabin was wonderful. The cabin itself is very cute, the spacing between the cabins is great for people looking for a weekend retreat. The facilities are comfortable as well. I definitely recommend this place to anyone!

We loved the time here, we really enjoyed and disconnected from rushing life. If planning on visiting on cold nights, do not forget extra blankets and good pijamas.

I loved the property, it was aloof amidst the woods. Everything was in place as described. The bon fire pit, wood, torch lights and everything. Would love to visit again.

Overall our experience was great. There were many flashlights, games and general hygiene products. However, the firewood wasn't quite right and we couldn't light the fireplace, we were cold all night! lol. We highly recommend the place, it is perfect for a couple.

Beautiful spot in a pine tree clearing, it has everything you would need for a weekend away. Nicely put together with homely touches. We will definitely be back again!

Great Spot ! Clear instructions on getting to the site , Great clean and practical bunkie, awesome firepit & great privacy , came with much more than we were expecting, flashlights , toilet paper , cooking utensils & such , only a 20 min drive from port dover, would definitely recommend & go again !

Adorable little getaway. Great spot to sit at night watching the stars, listening to all the wildlife around. Cabin was very cute and clean, with a lovely fire pit to enjoy. You are nestled off the beaten path, into the heart of a little pine tree clearing, honestly so romantic! Loved our stay.
