This is the best Hipcamp we've done so far (ok, I've only done 4 before, but still...). The place was just perfect for our needs, beautiful view, super clean, super quiet, nice trails to walk the dog, easy-going welcome from Kevin. In my opinion, the pictures do not do it justice, it's much better. This being said, we were the only guests, so I don't know how it is when there are other people, is it too close for comfort (we like to be all by ourselves). We will DEFINITELY return if our travels bring us in that direction.

My man and I camped here for one night in a tent, and it was so beautiful. The stars and sunset in this spot were unreal! Kevin is so cool and friendly! A cute little pond in the back meant lots of frogs and turtles to see and the meadows were full of crickets that chirped peacefully all night. A downside was that our spot and paths werent mowed before we got there, which made getting around a slighty difficult. the path the the privy wasnt mowed either :(. Besides this we would most definitely stay again as its a great affordable spot not too far out from Kingston!

Such a great spot and lovely people. The pond is so nice for a dip and the land is so nice to walk around. The camper is incredible and cozy on two single beds, great vintage cozy.

This campsite was quite beautiful, but there were a few notable issues:
One problem was that ground was very hard and bumpy in the spot where we were told to set up.
Another issue was that the path to the privy wasn't mowed, despite everything around it being well-tended, so it required a bit of bushwhacking to get there.
Lastly, and most notably, at sunset we were descended upon by a dense cloud of mosquitoes, the likes of which I have never seen in all my years of camping and backpacking. I'm just glad we got into our tent before the worst of the plague. By dawn most of the mosquitoes had gone, but a few dozen were still lying in wait underneath our rain fly. We packed up and got out of there as quickly as possible so that we wouldn't get chewed up.
Beyond those issues, everything else was fine. The hosts were pleasant and responsive. The location was convenient for its access to multiple highways. Overall, I would return if I knew that the mosquitoes were not going to be such an issue.

Loved camping on Kevin's land! It is worth noting that there we were fully in the sun where we were situated, but it gets cooler early in the evening, so we really didn't mind it. Kevin was very welcoming, nice to talk to and accomodating! The sunsets were beautiful and you feel one with nature, away from all the noise. We even got to see some of his cute animals that were on the farm. Loved this experience and would 100% recommend it!

A lovely spot, very safe and private. The host was welcoming and helpful. Only downside was the mosquitos were extremely thick. It was a comfortable and quiet spot to pitch a tent for the night on our way through Kingston and we wouldnât hesitate to stay again.

Kevin est super accueillant. Camper dans un champs de fleurs sauvages avec au reveil le son des oiseaux, des criquets et des grenouilles... c'est magique. On profite aussi du lever et du coucher de soleil. C'est situĂŠ a 3h de MontrĂŠal et c'est un point central puisqu'Ă Ă une heure de Sandbank et Ă une heure du parc Algonquin. J'ai mĂŠditĂŠ dans les champs, dans les bois et sur le bord de l'ĂŠtant Ă grenouille quoi de mieux.

A beautiful opportunity to do a little light camping. There is a trail leading through this area of woods to a very special clearing. There are geological features you will not see elsewhere, even a cleft in the ground. The exposed rocks are very interesting looking: a great spot for painters seeking to paint landscapes which was a large part of the reason for our trip. There is a river stream however the ground leading up to it is muddy so you will need to bring boots to venture there. Hiking books and heavy jeans are a good idea and a GPS. There was cellular signal there for the phone GPS to work. Bugs were not that bad here: in fact at night there were the most fireflies I've ever seen, several hundred. This is not a guaranteed thing to see but I would recommend that you would try to spot them just as the dusk is setting in because they are only seen for about half an hour and you might miss them. There is also a field that can be camped but you'll need to set up a tarp for shade. Views of the night sky and sunset are excellent from the field.
Hosts were very accommodating and were able to help us with their ATV, as well as provide a few fresh eggs which were delicious. Very friendly and hospitable and taking a personal passion in what they do.
Location is conveniently located near 1000 islands, Kingston, the town of Odessa, a short drive to Prince Edward County and Sandbanks. Numerous beautiful small towns nearby that you will not hear about unless you visit them.

Kevin was an excellent host and the location was perfect for my stay. When I woke up in the morning there was an incredible sunrise over the farm. Kevin also pointed me in the right direction to where I could take my mountain bike for a ride. Heads up that the place is a little tricky to find if you are arriving in the dark, but Kevin gave me great directions over the phone.

Kevin's place was extremely serene and beautiful. Loved the sounds of the roosters in the morning. One thing to note, if you choose forest is that the path to get there is approx 1/2k of pure off-roading. My little camry had a bit of trouble. I would suggest unless you have a car that is meant for that, try walking there or camping in the field portion.

We arrived at Kevin's late after the sunset. He greeted us with a warm Hello! And showed us to our sleeping spot in his field with a perfect sky full of stars! The space was great and very secluded.

Kevin nous a très bien accueilli! Le spot sur lequel il nous a installÊ Êtait très beau et paisible. Juste le chant des grenouilles et des cigales! Le matin notre fille Êtait ravie de dÊcouvrir les moutons et les poules. Très belle vue, nuit ÊtoilÊe incroyable car très peu de pollution lumineuse. Its quite a drive out there, i dont recommend you bring your car to the campsite itself. The "grass" is thyme so it smells amazing and the mosquitos only come out around 11pm, before that there are maybe 2 or 3. They die down closer to 1am but theyre still around in the morning. The owners were really nice and were just a tect or phonecall away. If you love camping without hearing other people or any "city" noises this is the perfect place.
