Campsite was fantastic! Located right next to a beautiful little pond with a beaver in it! The owner was very friendly and made sure we were all set up for a great weekend in the outdoors. Highly recommend!

Richard and his wife were amazing hosts, from start to finish. This is probably the best site we've been to yet. We had another booking at a location nearby that nearly ruined our vacation, but Richard's sanctuary saved the trip. Beautiful ambiance, peace and quiet (save the odd country sound), everything we were asking for away from the city. The hike in takes you to another world, and was perfect for bunkering down to enjoy the caveman cooking we do. Not too much fishing to be had, however all the local recommendations were right on. Get wood from Richard, it's worth it. Pro tip: bring potable water, shade tools, bug defences, and be sure to ask your hosts for a good story or two!

What a beautiful, secluded camping spot surrounded by nothing but nature and wildlife! I highly recommend this spot to any nature enthousiast~you will not be disapointed! Richard was so very kind and helpful. He helped bring all the camping gear to and from the site (even in a bad rainstorm-we were all soaked, including him). I cannot say enought positive things about this place! I will certainly return. Thank you once again!

The site is beautiful and very quiet. Going for a ride in the paddleboat is fun. We loved watching the fireflies come out at night.
This has nothing to do with the site itself, which is really great and safe, but just a general reminder to campers in Southern Ontario: make sure you check the weather before your trip! Thunderstorms are strong and impressive in that part of the country.

Beautiful piece of property with a super peaceful plot of land to camp on. The reeds beside the site are basically a bird sanctuary, and there were tons of birds flying in and out which was a great addition (and provided much entertainment for our dog - don't worry, he didn't kill any). There's also lots of acreage to explore via trails on the property. Definitely want to stay again!

Kids loved the peddle boat and catching frogs
Lovely beach where we swam and fished - 15 min drive
Suggest if visiting in high temp - need sun shade as the sight is full sun

What a campsite! Host was very clear on directions. Getting to the campsite was a hike and a half but once you get down by the water, it's definitely all worth it. Everything was clean and properly maintained especially the bathroom. Such an amazing quiet place. Very private. Full of wildlife. Paddle boat was fun to use. Campfire wood all set and ready to go before we arrived. Host came down to check up on us. He was very charming and insightful. 100% would recommend!

I absolutely loved my time here! I’ve camped in some beautiful places, but they’ve made this spot truly special. Not only is it situated beside a beautiful pond, but they’ve added a dock, fireplace, and a paddle boat for people to use! These additions really add to the experience and made this such a relaxing getaway. It is also a great place to find some solitude - just you and the wildlife!
Just a note, it is about 300m walk into the spot, so limit the amount of things to avoid a lot of back and forth. Also, the spot gets a lot of sunlight which is great, but there is no shade when it gets hot. So I suggest bringing a tent or umbrella to stay cool in the heat of the day! There is a lake about 15 minutes away with a beach to swim.
Richard is very kind and generous, and even helped me with my things when I arrived. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with me for the weekend!

Had a great time. Absolutely gorgeous area. It was nice to relax on the dock and listen to the sounds of nature. The barrel stove was nice to cook on. Richard was quick to respond and we had a good conversation for a little bit when he brought me some paper because I forgot to bring fire starter.

We enjoyed our time tent camping with our dog.
Lots of room, well maintained, fire bit was lovely. Able to cook on the fire pit. Beautiful location by the water. Paddle boat was fun. Picnic table was a nice added feature.
Outhouse was close by.
Great place to relax, and enjoy the views.
Not ideal for swimming as we did see leaches in the water. Fished for quite some time with no luck, don’t think there is fish in the water.
To get down to the spot, it is quite a big hill FYI.

Great place to stay! Very peaceful and secluded. Richard is a kind soul that will help you with whatever you need as he did with me and i sure did need it =)
P.S. if you’re expecting heavy rains during your stay, do not park your car all the way at the bottom of the hill

We had a great time. Instructions to arrive were clear and the campsite had amazing views, parking is around 5 minutes walking to the campsite downhill, something to keep in mind if you have lots of things. It has its private and untouched natural pound and the paddle boat is a big plus. The oven was easy to lit and put out. Lots of mosquitoes don’t forget your bugs spray.

This place is absolutely awesome! Very private and quiet!
Went at the peak of black fly season and by the water none to be seen (still had lots of bug spray on).
I went on a solo trip with my dog and the pack up and carry out was a little difficult, but I am notorious for packing way too much.
Little bit of a hike out of the site back to parking and the trail was a little muddy in spots. Overall a must see spot and plan on bringing my hubby next time! Thank you Richard!
Oh and my dog is a total asshole so I was worried about the other dog near the site but he doesn’t wonder too far from their house and didn’t see him once 🙂

The most private campsite we have been to.
Beautiful unspoiled nature. We even had nightly conversations with a Barred Owl!
The site is a bit of a hike down from parking area so pack light!
Definitely would go back and highly recommend this amazing spot to others.
Thanks again to Richard for hauling our gear down when we arrived - it was much appreciated!

Gill & Richard really know how to make you feel at home at their beautiful (and private) oasis in the woods. We felt reconnected with nature, and had everything we possibly needed. I was camping with my niece this time and we both felt very safe. My dog loves it here too. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

I can’t say enough good things about this stay. Richard and Gill were extremely welcoming and went FAR above & beyond our expectations. They provided us with a beautiful (and safe) way to have a fire and cook our food, helped us haul our overwhelming amount of stuff to our site (which had an exceptional and very private view overlooking one of two ponds), and even use of their peddle boat. Could not recommend their place enough. I promise you will not be disappointed!

Had a fantastic couple of days here. Richard was super-considerate in ensuring that I was properly settled in and had a few different options for where I set up my campsite.
The area itself is very quiet, with a beautiful view over the small lake and areas for some short walks.

The property is stunning and the host is amazing! Was insistent on helping us move our things from the car to the site, and made sure we had everything we needed! Including finishing building an outhouse the day before we arrived! Even loaned fishing rods for the weekend. Overall I’d be happy to stay again!

I have to say it is a special kind of place. The host was very gracious and welcoming. Quite, relaxing and very secluded. I would recommend allowing campers to have a fire pit. Swimming wasn’t allowed considering the water has leaches. Other then that it was an experience that I would do again.
