This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community. It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night. The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead. There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company. Here is what the land offers: -Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023 -Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table -Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River. -RV Spot: With electric hook up ideal for RVs 30 feet and under -a connection to the organization, 'Black Folks Camp Too'! Welcoming to all!!!!! So much to see and do in the area!

This is a very chill and serene place run by a Mom type. It is re-forested pine that backs on to the Saugeen River. There is a ten foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the river. Winter is brilliant with snow shoeing, cross country skiing (bring your own) and a short drive to funky and fun places to eat. In the Spring you can find fiddleheads if you’re adventuresome! Stars and fireflies await you here, as well as smiles and kindness.

This is a beautiful, very private bunkie with a loft. A queen sized mattress is made with care up a secure ladder, with a double futon and a small table on the main floor. It is insulated, and has a dyson heater to keep you warm on those chilly nights.  It is currently powered with solar panels, and will be adding a small windmill for those non sunny days!  Your own fire pit with a fancy grate that also has supports for hanging pots and a rotisserie that would hold two full chickens to roast! A nice walk through the forest to all amenities. Come give it a try!

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. This cozy two bedroom lower level suite offers newly renovated space to unwind after a day of hiking, swimming, or canoe/kayaking. Though you have a terrific bathroom with a huge tub/shower for soaking the day, you also have access to an outdoor shower! There is a firepit to sit by to roast your marshmallows or pop some corn. A couple of big friendly dogs live in the log cabin above your apartment with your host. Come visit!

Strawberry Fields Bunkie
We had a great experience at the Pine in the Sky. We stayed at Strawberry Fields Bunkie last weekend. Joan is an exceptional host, she accomodated our stay since my partner’s flight arrived at 10pm and got to the cabin around 1:30am. She had left us an instructions of how to get to our cabin. At the same time, she’s making sure that we have everything that we needed.

Peaceful Retreat
Strawberry Fields Bunkie
Joan was an incredible host, who we were lucky to have our first Hipcamp experience with. Very personable, hospitable, and accommodating -- she treated us with the warmth of an old friend, which we will forever be grateful for. Pine the Sky is wonderful! The Strawberry bunkie is a short 3 minute walk from the parking area next to Joan's cabin. It's just the perfect distance away - - far enough to feel secluded, but close enough for a water refill, outhouse trip, shower, or cargo run. Joan provides her guests with a very capable wheelbarrow, so there's no need to fret about making multiple trips to your car. Despite its size, the bunkie was very capable: equipped with a futon upstairs (low headroom), and pullout bed + dining set downstairs, as well as a heater and multiple precharged light sources, you've got all the ingredients for a comfy stay. An enclosed fuel generator out back powers the cabin, which was surprisingly quiet! The property is tranquil, safe, and easy to access. Being engulfed by the pine trees is as invigorating as it is enjoyable, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a breath of fresh air. The best part about our stay, though, by far, has to be Obsidian, one of Joan's two dogs. You'll know exactly what I mean when you meet him! ;) He's captured our hearts fully, and we would be happy to return even just to see him again. Just book it, you'll have a great time! 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲

Pine the Sky bunkie in the forest!
Cabin was closer to the main house than we thought but was still tucked away enough! Went for a swim on one of the nice days in the river (tip: bring some rope to help you climb out as it’s very slippery clay) Went fishing and caught a very small brook trout. Host and doggos are very sweet! The area is full of amazing sights, you can make an entire day out of adventuring the area within 25 mins of the cabin

Beautiful property. Joan was a wonderful host and we just loved her dogs. The weather wasn't the greatest so we didn't get a chance to put our kayaks in the river but we will definitely be back when it warms up to revisit. Looking forward to that!! Thank you Joan 🙂

Coziest Outdoor Weekend Getaway!!

We had an amazing time here for a cozy little getaway. The property was beautiful, the hosts were great. The little cabin was cozy comfortable. It was all great to go visit Hoggs Falls and Eugenenia Falls which was super fun. Thank you for an amazing weekend. We really hope to return soon.

We tent camped at river site. The site was a great a walk from parking. We had ample spots to pitch, and a great angle for watching the sunsets, and to have a mellow rise in the morning. The fit pit is great and the cooking rack matched perfectly. The Host was a gem, Perfect, very easy and and fun to boot. Will be booking again. We booked this site as it seamed the closest To Devils Glen Provincial Park, and closer to to rock climbing parking spot at Devils Glen. It allowed for a direct route through Fllesherton that has a couple great coffee and take away breakfast options.

Pine the sky is hands down one of the best campsites l've ever stayed at. From the moment we arrived, our host Joan, made us feel completely comfortable and at home. She's super friendly and puts a lot of care into making the campsite special. The site itself is stunning- nestled in nature with a trail that leads to a breathtaking view of the river. The space was clean, peaceful and perfectly set up for a relaxing escape or an adventure packed weekend. We highly recommend Pine the Sky!!

I loved the cabin and its rustic vibe! Joan was a great host and was always there helping us with anything we needed. We stayed in the bunkie but even the campsites are far very secluded and gives a lot if privacy!

Hideaway in the Pines
I had the most incredible stay at this cabin with my friends! Everything was done so tastefully and beautifully, it all came together perfectly! You can tell that Joan genuinely put a lot of thought and care into every detail. She’s not only kind and amazing, but her hospitality really stands out. Plus her dogs were really cute and friendly. The land itself is absolutely stunning, offering a bit of everything you could want in a getaway. Plus, the cabin is equipped with everything you could possibly need, making it so convenient and stress-free. It truly exceeded all our expectations. Can’t wait to go back.

Pine the Sky bunkie in the forest!
Great stay! The bunkie was nice and toasty in the winter. The fire pit was right next to our bunkie which was great and Joan was an excellent host! We will definitely come back again. We borrowed her snowshoes and and took some walks around the property. If you're coming with a kid in the winter, bring your own sled it comes in handy!

Camping with a warm cabin

Joan's land was very peaceful, quiet and wonderful. She was very accommodating to our requests and we felt comfortable. Joan's two big dogs were very friendly and spent a lot of time with us during our stay. The cabin was just right to keep out the cold and our family made another memory and we hope to visit again. (My two daughters love it)

Welcoming host gave me a quick tour of the facility after hours and the next morning. 2 cabins and 1 basement suite on hipcamp. Warm shower. Electricity and heater and WIFI in the cabin. 50 minutes from Orangeville with restaurants, supermarkets, etc. The road where the cabin is located is paved so 2WD frien.

Had a great time on Joan's property! We took the canoe out for a paddle on the river and saw a heron as soon as we arrived. Beautiful property.

Love the bunkie and campfire area provided. Joan was approachable and easy going. The space was private and quiet. The mosquitos were a bit annoying but apparently it was a bad season for them. Better protection next time lol
