Take time to rest and return back to nature at this modern but quaint off-grid cabin. Surrounded by 34-acres of private property, guests can enjoy its winding trails, get cozy by the designated fire pit or enjoy the picturesque views of a quiet lake. Explore the banks of the wet-lands, hike through the mossy rock ledges deep within the forest, or pedal out to the lake's centre for a refreshing swim. The property is less than three kilometres from the Trans-Canada trail, the longest network of multi-use recreational trails in the world.Rough-it in luxury at Old Pine cabin. This ~500 square foot off-grid cabin is cozy, clean and functional--perfect for an adventure in nature. The cabin features an open-concept primary loft bedroom with a double bed as well as a guest bedroom with a twin bed. The kitchen includes basic cookware and dinnerware amenities as well as a breakfast nook, mini fridge, sink, lake water bucket and grey water bucket. The cabin is outfitted with a barbecue, a cookstove, and the necessary propane. Non-potable water is accessible from the lake via the designated YETI bucket for dishes (if boiled) and hand washing. Guests are expected to bring their own potable water for drinking and cooking. Guests are also expected to bring food containers with sealable lids (all food must be stored inside the cabin). The cabin is wired and runs off-grid with an on-site generator. A designated amount of fuel will be provided during your stay. The surprisingly cute outhouse is located behind the cabin. Toilet paper and a waste bin are provided. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the enclosed porch for morning coffee, snuggle up by the designated fire pit for evening s'mores, or have lunch out on the picnic table overlooking the lake. Your cabin rental also includes use of the pedal boat which you can use to explore the lake (season permitting and at your own risk). For swimming enthusiasts, we encourage taking the pedal boat offshore for a refreshing dip. The property has kilometres worth of trails to explore, passing by mossy rock ledges, wooded forests, open fields, and wetland banks. You may be fortunate enough to come across beavers, deers, foxes, chipmunks, otters, turtles, ducks, (non-venomous) snakes, frogs, or loons. Please note, this region is populated with black bears (please review our bear safety recommendations before your stay). The cabin is nestled deep within the property, overlooking the lake and wetlands. The driveway has been recently filled with new crush and we suspect all vehicle types can make the journey. We look forward to your visit!
